My Culinary Adventures: Breakfast at Blair's in Silver Lake

http://myculinaryadventures.blogspot.com/2007/03/breakfast-at-blairs-in-silver-lake.html

Bon Vivant's written and pictorial diary of her culinary adventures that will amuse and excite your virtual taste buds. Tuesday, March 06, 2007. Breakfast at Blair's in Silver Lake. What looks like a perfect cinnamon bun; but, alas, perfection eluded this breakfast pastry: simply put, it was a bit too dry. My cafe au lait. I was really shocked when our server asked me what exactly was in a cafe au lait. Huh? How can anyone in over-caffeineted Silver Lake not know what a cafe au lait is? Now, a word about...

My Culinary Adventures: Beacon, an Asian Cafe

http://myculinaryadventures.blogspot.com/2007/04/beacon-asian-cafe.html

Bon Vivant's written and pictorial diary of her culinary adventures that will amuse and excite your virtual taste buds. Sunday, April 22, 2007. Beacon, an Asian Cafe. Below, two views of the luscious yaki udon: glistening strands of udon noodles stir fried with slivers of tender pork, green onions, cabbage, and kim chee. The kim chee is what makes this dish for me - it highlights the other flavors (mostly bland) plus the funkiness of the kim chee gives this everyday dish a little oomph. Below, the delica...

My Culinary Adventures: Highlights of a Friday Night Wine Tasting at JV Wine & Spirits

http://myculinaryadventures.blogspot.com/2010/02/highlights-of-friday-night-wine-tasting.html

Bon Vivant's written and pictorial diary of her culinary adventures that will amuse and excite your virtual taste buds. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Highlights of a Friday Night Wine Tasting at JV Wine and Spirits. It seems like everyone in Napa has discovered the Friday Night Wine Tastings at JV Wine and Spirits. Why are they so popular with the local folk? An '07 Lang and Reed Cab Franc. Not a bad wine for $20. It faded a bit on the palate but again a good price for a CA Cab Franc (why are they...My fa...

Mr. Pizza Factory | I love Koreatown in the springtime...

https://kbloginla.wordpress.com/2010/02/19/mr-pizza-factory

I love Koreatown in the springtime…. Wherein I blog about all things Korean in Los Angeles. Mr Pizza Factory February 19, 2010. 8212; Raven @ 4:10 pm. I can’t remember exactly when I went to this place, but I do remember that we ordered a half-and-half pizza. Half Potato Gold, which I’d heard lots of good things about, and half bulgogi, just because there was no way we could go to a Korean pizza place and not try bulgogi as a topping. Here’s the result:. About two blocks west of Western). It seems like t...

VIEWS OF THIS BAD OL CITY FROM BEYOND YOUR SUV'S WINDOW. Sunday, October 28, 2007. A simple thank you to heroes. So let’s talk bravery cousins, simple bravery. We have all heard the words, we all know the meaning. Athena knows we all have faced things that have terrified us, and come out the other side. I salute your valour, and your courage and if any of you should meet Uncle in the 3d, step up tell me what you do,and I will buy you a cold one and salute you like the heroes you are. So your own Metrowal...

http://foodblogz.blogspot.com/2009/12/flemings-steak-house.html

There was an error in this gadget. Monday, December 28, 2009. It started out high and ended low. I attended the one-night event special dinner called "BYO wine dinner."Tonight's menu:Hors d'oeuvre-Lump Crab Crostini with Tropical Pineapple and Prickly Pear Vinaigrette. It was nice refreshing with hint of lemon and a nice tangy crunch from the pear. Yeah! A great start so I thought. I could not eat the remainder of the dish. I would rather a meal start sluggish and get better as it goes on but that wa...

The Culinary Art reference page. The secret to creation as opposed to execution:. The cook that follows strictly recipes will create merely 'correct' meals, as in he or she has followed the instructions. So the outcome is predictably acceptable. As compared to a real good culinary artist, his meals will lack. That little something that makes the difference between good and great. Where is the art in merely following a recipe? Accordingly, I am not here telling you not to follow recipes! So welcome to thi...

My Culinary Cabaret

February 14, 2014. Bull; by cpanagiotakos. One of my main goals in choosing the menu for this dinner was to keep everything as earthy and simple as I could. The fresh flavors definitely transported you to the forest. I also made my first foray into pasta making! I was always intimidated by the process but even without a pasta machine it was surprisingly easy. It was a little time consuming but definitely worth it. Strawberry Goat Cheese Salad. Apple/ Butternut Squash Soup. Clean Mushrooms and Remove Stems.
