A site celebrating the mundane magic of cycling to and from work in london. This is a site celebrating the magic in the mundane. It charts my journeys to and from work in central London from the fringe of the city through roads and paths and parks that are freighted with decades of memories from early childhood until now. Each journey involves cycling, but cycling is not the subject. The history of the city and my history will collide softly in the free fall between home and work and back again.

I have not been shouted at or abused. I have not shouted at or abused anyone. I have not frozen or been soaked or blown sideways by the wind. I have gone through red lights, ridden through parks and gone onto the pavement. My closest disaster was making a jogger jump out of the way as I swung into them without looking at a traffic light.

From Beirut to London in 100 Dishes. Keeping my arab heritage alive through food. Aish al saraya – or the bread of the palace. 10 slices of white bread. 100ml ready cooked (See recipe page. 300ml of double cream. 1 tea spoon of rose water. 1 tea spoon of orange blossom water. 120g of unsalted pistachio nuts coarsely chopped. First toast the bread until golden brown. When the bread slices cool down, put them all in a blender and blend until they have turned to crumbs. Add 2 spoons of ater and mix well.
