Tuesday, September 25, 2012. To Haiti and Back: Part Two. We did wake up on time and went to the courtyard to meet Ivinge at our agreed upon time. This was our first real life lesson in Haitian time. Having no idea how long it would take us to get to the airport, we were getting antsy. But now we knew how to contact Ivinge! So Mitch called him and all he could really understand from the other end was, "Menning! Still, we were glad to have Ivinge there with us to make sure we got where we needed to go.

Friday, February 10, 2012. A Letter To My Son. Dear Boy of Mine,. I wish so much that I could be with you tomorrow to wish you a Happy Second Birthday! A big sloppy kiss rather than just the framed picture of you that we have in our dining room. For now, sweet boy, I am forced to trust God with His timing. Usually it's with feet kicking and sometimes with fists to the sky, but God's working something in us through all of this waiting. Loving you from way too far away,. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

This Blessed Life: December 2011
http://thisblessedlife-km.blogspot.com/2011_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, December 3, 2011. It came on Thursday of this week and I still can't quite believe it. The amazing orphanage where our children currently live, sent little boy's handprints and a Thanksgiving picture made from little girl's hand and feet tracings! My God who holds all people, all time, all everything in his loving hands. Including me. Including my family, even though we are apart. Yes, my children in Haiti are real. And so is my God! This week we decided to skip our traditional post. We went to stay at the lake on Wednesday night so we were closer to Glenwood where we were to attend Thanksgiving at Sally and Rod's. On Thanksgiving morning we ate cinnamon rolls and discussed the things we were most thankful for. It was really hard. Tate Peterson Newman, age 6 years and 9 months, is most thankful for:. Avery Elaine Newman, age 4 years and 11 months, is most thankful for:. 1) dress up clothes. 4) my friends at school. 1) my wife and kids.

1 Rach and Brad both turned 30 in May. Friday they threw themselves a birthday bash.but not just any bash. It was a creepy denim party. All guests were to dress head to toe in denim, the creepier the better. Eric decided to go redneck cowboy and I went 90s school teacher. Likey? It was the first time my sisters and I had all been together since Kara's return from Europe. Always so fun yet a little dangerous. =). Sunday we headed to the lake to spend Father's day with my Dad. Ahembut its a year I will be ...

And E replied "San Francisco! So here are the five. Days of our vacation! 1 Day One: Twins Game and Anniversary Dinner. So I spent the next 6 months avoiding a Twins schedule and the last month even avoiding the sports segment on the news. We decided to walk the mile from our hotel to the stadium and on the way we found my favorite street.so what if they spelled it wrong? Nothing one shoe couldn't take care of! So cool to be right on the bay. 2 Day Two: Fisherman's Wharf and Alcatraz. Then we had to deci...

1 On our agenda for quite some time has been to repaint/redecorate the kids bathroom. I've even had everything purchased and waiting for a little extra time to do it. Last weekend we finally dedicated some time to get it done. It started out with E doing a bit of sanding to get rid of the swirls that were in there before.goodbye duckies and swirls! After a little elbow grease and a few coats of paint.voila! 5 It is evident on most days that while they won't always DO what you say, kids will REMEMBER ever...

Thursday, August 23, 2012. To Haiti and Back: Part One. This has all been rolling around in my mind since we returned from Haiti on July 28. So much to process. So much to be grateful for. It's so hard to answer people when they ask how the trip was. It was so many things. But this time I was filled with worry and concern. I think the unknown of it all crept out in my emotions about everything. After handing our paper to the customs guy, we were off to brave Haiti :). However. after the call Mitch wa...
