As many in the area commented, it was like a scene from Narnia. These pictures were taken with my phone and haven't been edited. The sky really was that blue. I'm going to grow something. Take that winter! Clicks spring forward this weekend. Spring is coming. I can't wait! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). We ha...

All hell breaks lose when it rains in Manila. The already congested traffic comes to a complete stand still. A plethora of taxis magically disappears into thin air as if the taxis were conspiring to gauge prices. For a foreigner that doesn’t know how to get around the city other than using taxis, you are at the mercy of the weather and the taxi drivers. 8220;Mam’m, I have a lot of customers to choose from, you pay more yes? 8221; He shamed me into silence. 8221; Upon arriving Manila, all of those doubts ...

Since Angela’s stay with us, she’s booked us several massages to a place that’s close to our house. I had two massages and they were both good. However, if I had to choose between great wine and food versus massages, wine and food will always win. So, now that you know where I stand with massages, I will share my first massage of this trip with you…. 8221; I thought to myself. I thought they were not supposed to touch your back door! 8221; “He seems to enjoy his massage, is that good? As I have told you,...

Adventures in the 100 Acre Wood. Raising animals, vegetables, and children. Wednesday, July 14, 2010. Paul Miller, Dad, 7/30/49 - 7/9/2010. I think I was in grade school when I first realized how hard dad worked. His insurance business was in its infancy. We lived on my gradparents' farm. They both were fighting losing battles with cancer. He put in an incredible amount of hours in his own business, and was running grandpa's farm. I'm honestly not sure when he slept those years. Though he did not play ne...

Adventures in the 100 Acre Wood. Raising animals, vegetables, and children. Monday, November 08, 2010. And now we are farmers - Part One. It all began one holiday meal. The extended family was gathered and some how the conversation turned to spacious yards, large gardens and tending a few animals. Some of us had once been farmers. Some of us had fond memories of a childhood in a rural setting. Some of us were fans of Mother Earth News. 11/8/10, 2:16 PM. 11/8/10, 2:43 PM. 11/8/10, 7:46 PM. 11/8/10, 7:49 PM.

Adventures in the 100 Acre Wood. Raising animals, vegetables, and children. Thursday, July 17, 2014. Up until this year my experience with fermenting was limited to making vinegar. I regularly make apple cider vinegar from our apple scraps, and once many years ago, when I had more blackberries. Than I knew what to do with I made blackberry vinegar. It wasn't long before I was pinning. 7/27/14, 5:36 AM. 9/14/14, 2:03 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Carnival of family life. Up until this year my ex...
