Wednesday, 29 July 2015. A Dip in the Irish Sea. I have been very sloppy over the last few months and just haven’t felt like editing photos and blogging but I seem to be coming out of the doldrums and the need to save our memories for posterity has come over me again and today I’m posting. Picnic consumed the boys couldn’t wait to play at the splash park on Cleveleys front. Next up was the skate park. Nicholas watched and studied how George went over the top of this steep drop. Then it was back to digging.

Simple Pleasures: Vilonia, Arkansas – The Final Post of Our USA 2014 Trip.

Wednesday, 13 May 2015. Vilonia, Arkansas – The Final Post of Our USA 2014 Trip. Of photographs and so without further ado here are the last few! One late afternoon in the middle of our holiday we got to see Maureen’s eldest grandson, Luke, run at a track meet at the school the boys all attend in Vilonia. It was an important meet leading up to state championships (I think) and Luke, in tiptop condition, performed excellently and won his heats without a problem. Including Fannie Flagg’s Elmwood Spri...

Tuesday, 29 April 2014. Easter Weekend at Bay View. Easter Saturday William, Caroline, Charlie and I made our way up the motorway to Bay View for our first overnight stay of the season. It felt good to be there again. The grass was lush and green, the sheep were in the fields…. And on the salt marshes and the sky was blue. In fact lovely spring weather! Yep, it felt good to be enjoying the simple pleasure of being outdoors in the fresh air. Not a bad way to start the day I don’t think! Links to this post.

Tuesday, 22 July 2014. To Big Cedar Lodge via Arkansas Scenic 7 Byway. Here I am with another instalment of our trip in March/April of this year to the USA. Having recharged our batteries after our epic road trip (approx 2,000 miles)to South Carolina and Georgia we now embarked upon a shorter trip to Big Cedar Lodge in Missouri taking a leisurely and scenic route. William and I were both really excited about this trip. Big Cedar Lodge had been on our wish list for a long time. I always find the old barns...

Simple Pleasures: Beer, East Devon 2015
http://threelittletreasures.blogspot.com/2015/07/beer-east-devon-2015.html
Tuesday, 21 July 2015. Beer, East Devon 2015. Some years ago when the girls were aged 8 and 12 we took a family holiday down to Devon. All those years ago, not knowing the area very well, we rented a lovely house in a little village called Colyton. It was a couple of miles inland but ideally situated for exploring the east Devon coast. We visited several seaside towns but Beer was the one that stole our hearts. This time we stayed at Bay View Guest House, a beautiful B&B with lots to recommend it and hav...

Thursday, 26 March 2015. Sizergh Castle and Lancaster Canal. Last Saturday morning William and I drove up the motorway heading for Bay View and our first weekend stay of the 2015 season in the caravan. It was a beautiful spring day with clear blue skies but for all that come bedtime in a tin box it we knew it was going to be a wee bit chilly. Our plan was to leave the heating on overnight and that’s what we did thus avoiding frostbite! 8230; via the canal. The gardens are a treat to walk though. This lim...

Thursday, 22 January 2015. Fun in the Snow. Last weekend saw the first snowfall of the winter and there was fun to be had. George (on the left above) stayed over with us Friday and Saturday night and had a great time with his friends out sledging both Saturday and Sunday. Its great fun going downhill on the sledge but it can be a pain dragging the sledge back up the hill. Especially when it’s impossible to stay upright and you end up on all fours like George. As the afternoon wore on and Charlie’s ...

Friday, 13 February 2015. A Beautiful Day For a Walk at Dove Stone Reservoir. A week ago today Caroline and I took a bracing walk round the picture perfect in the snow Dove Stone Reservoir. There was still plenty of snow around on the hills. Underfoot in places was sheer ice and we had to tread really carefully. In other places where the sun’s rays had reached the going was much easier. This was not a sight we have ever seen before at Dove Stones. A family camping! Links to this post. Quarry Bank Mill, a...
