My Life in the USA. In June 2013 my host. And I did a round trip and visited almost all parts of Florida. First we landed in Fort Lauderdale. From there Josh, Karen and I rented a car and made our way to Siesta Key. On our way we stopped at Miami to enjoy the beach. After that we headed to the Everglade, home to many alligators! The Everglades are so more different than the rest of Florida and it's swamps make it unique. We all even got the chance to see some 'gators and try native food.

My Life in the USA. My organization AIFS always organizes an orientation weekend in New York. The hotel was located in New Jersey, not far away from NY. It was very big and even had a pool! We spent a lot of time doing Workshops to prepare for our stay and learn more about the American culture. Also we did some sight seeing and we got to see the Statue of Liberty, Times Square, Central Park, the UN headquarters, Hard Rock Cafe, Madame Tassauds, etc. Embassy Suites, NJ. If you can dream it - you can do it!

My Life in the USA. Where did I live? I lived in Germantown, a beautiful village in Clinton County, Illinois with an estimated population of 1,269. When I heard I was going to live in Germantown, I first felt like someone was kidding me, because I did not expect to be chosen to live in a city called Germantown as a German. Germantown actually was established by German settlers coming from Hanover. If you can dream it - you can do it!

Anna goes to USA :). Soo…New York ist so geil! Der Flug nach NY war ganz entspannt und witzig und obwohl es 8 Stunden waren hatten wir auch noch am Ende richtig viel Spaß! Nur naja das Essen war jetzt nicht das beste. (aber so ist Flugzeug essen doch immer? Mussten wir früh aufstehen und sind dann erst einmal frühstücken gegangen. Danach haben wir uns dann alle getroffen und hatten von 8.30-10 am einen Workshop bei dem wir über regeln, Kulturschock und noch vieles mehr geredet haben…. Am Abend ging’...

How do you know what is tolerance, if you never had to get used to something different even if you didn’t like it. How do you know what is autonomy, if you never had the chance to decide something by yourself? How do you know what it means to grow up, if you never stopped being a chi ld to start a new course? Übrigens es sind nur noch ca 69 Tage :D. Der Trolly ist da.

Anna goes to USA :). Donnerstag, 30. August 2012. Endlich habe ich mal gute Nachrichten :D. Ich wurde heute Morgen von aifs angerufen und mir wurde mitgeteilt das ich eine Familie in McAllen, Texas habe! Ich kann es immer noch nicht fassen und bin gerade einfach nur richtig glücklich. Ich werde am 5.9 nach NY mit der ganzen gruppe fliegen und dann wird es am 8. Weiter nach McAllen gehen…da die Schule in Texas schon am 27.8 angefangen hat werde ich mit einer Woche Verspätung dann zur. 19 August - 26 August.

Anna goes to USA :). Sonntag, 9. September 2012. Endlich habe ich mal Zeit gefunden zu schreiben ;). Ich bin jetzt seit ein paar Stunden hier bei der Family und es ist alles sooo cool hier! Und das Wetter ist einfach nur der Hammer… als ich aus dem Gate raus kam habe ich die beiden kleinen Mädchen direkt mit den schildern gesehen.
