A Tribute to the. Founder of the Toronto and District Multiple Myeloma Support Group. In 1996, Marion State, was diagnosed with Multiple Myeloma. When first diagnosed, she was told that she had 3 to 5 years to live. Instead of giving up hope, she used her abundant energy and resolve to help others with this disease. Marion soon founded the very first Canadian Myeloma support group in Toronto. She also provided assistance and motivation to other support groups in Canada. Email to a friend.
