My English Garden Journal. Things that happen in my garden………. Skip to primary content. Good pick of blackberries today. July 17, 2014. We planted a blackberry three years ago after taking out some raspberries that were not thriving. Last year, the wasps descended and we could not safely approach to pick any fruit! Enjoy the sun and let’s hope we get one of those thunderstorms – but not a violent one! Could not bear to see the beans stripped of their leaves at this stage………. Leave a Reply Cancel reply.

Well the garden has a received a good late summer watering yesterday! Judging by a bucket left outside, an inch of rain fell in just one storm.
