Kafka: The Metamorphosis Project. Friday, 6 May 2011. Scans from Fabric book. I chose this image as their way of keeping the curtains back is to loop it over back on itself, which forms unusual little half curtain that look purely decorative. although this wouldn't really work for either of the two rooms, that fabric would look good in Gregor's room as it matches the wallpaper. Kafka: The Metamorphosis Project. Monday, 23 May 2011. To create the actual curtain it was pretty simple, I made them two and a half foot wide, by four foot long. II wanted them to drape on the floor, as that is what all my research has told me about czechoslovakia at that time. Kafka: The Metamorphosis Project. Friday, 6 May 2011. I've just been looking through "The Decorative Art of Textiles" by trying to find some inspiration for the curtains for the set. I need to design 2 pairs for the living/dining room and one pair for Gregor's bedroom. (the green is for Gregor's rom, and the pink is for the dining room). John was in charge of the walls, he bought a really nice flowery wallpaper for the living room, and a white an green kind of nature inspired one for Gregors Bedroom. Just got a few decorative bits to make which should take an hour tomorrow! Then it can be upholstered. I have some polyester fabric coming from my mum which will make it look really well finished. Group 1 SET project - The Creation of Metaphoric Space. Thursday, 5 May 2011. We were able to finish the walls for Gregor's room today as well as put up the double door frame. the window header in gregors room is up but still a little odd so we're gonna sort it in the morning. hoping we get the 3x8 tomorrow and we'll be able to finish the final wall of the set :). Candles (I'll make them look used tomorrow and distress one for gregors room)(x6). Flowers (will look more dead by thursday). Loaf of uncut bread. I'll have some ham by tomorrow.
