Door to door, it took about 28 hours, but I think my mom and I both didn’t feel the full weight of that; we’re feeling well (just a little tired).The kids had a holiday from school on Friday, so our last couple of days were filled with kids morning to night! Glimpses of Ghana and such beautiful people. Thursday, August 27, 2009. Aaahhhh, internet that works…. Well, I didn’t keep up with the blog this trip. Our time just went so fast, getting to an internet café was not convenient, and when we were there is was too frustrating to load pictures. So, below is an array of photos illustrating this year’s trip. You never know what might happen in Ghana, so we’ve learned to just go with it. Not sure it is obvious from the pictures, but the kids are growing so much!

I was staying over at Will's house one night while Steve and Jen went to dinner. Will carefully selected a special pizza for us to have for our dinner and yummy peanut butter cookies with chunks of peanut butter cups in them. Jen has a new oven and a pizza stone, and unfortunately I was unfamiliar with both. I decided to attempt baking the same cookies again at my own house.

Wednesday, February 3, 2010. One Hundred Years Ago. My Great-Grandpa John Augustine Power married my Great-Grandma Mary Ellen "Nellie" Powers Power! Here is a photo of them and their children. My Grandpa is baby #6, so he is the first one pictured in the bottom row on the left hand side. John Augustine was among the first Power children born in America.
