Here, There and Everywhere: March 2009
http://carissagonzales.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 2, 2009. For over 20 years President Robert Mugabe ran the government but since he took control, the country has only been getting worse. His regime works for its own benefit and suppresses the minority tribes. I thank God all the time for allowing me to see and meet such loving but hopeless people, because it motivates me to work harder and to share my story with others. Will you die without them? When people say they are starving I want to cry and share stories of people I met who are lit...

Here, There and Everywhere: Riverside Fires
http://carissagonzales.blogspot.com/2009/09/riverside-fires.html
Tuesday, September 22, 2009. Fires rolling down the hill. The whole hill wasn’t on fire but scattered brush fires were on the side of the mountain. The family lived in their home for 11 years and never had a problem with the fires. Family members sat helplessly on their front yard watching fires consume the rolling hills in their neighborhood. Neighbors congregated on street corners in disbelief as they watched firefighters protect their block. Parents embraced their children as they held onto the only p...

Here, There and Everywhere: December 2008
http://carissagonzales.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Monday, December 22, 2008. Hey guys I just wanted to let you know I am back in the country. As you can read, I had the most amazing experience of my life in Kenya. God showed me so much and changed me. I am not who I was. I was changed in more ways than I know. I flew in last Wednesday night. I won't talk forever, but will relay my story and possibly have time for questions. I am planning on showing a slide show of pictures too. I fear and love God and try to live a life worthy to be called God's child.

Here, There and Everywhere: The Good News of Christmas
http://carissagonzales.blogspot.com/2010/12/good-news-of-christmas.html
Thursday, December 2, 2010. The Good News of Christmas. I am one of the billions who have had the privilege to know my heavenly Father in a way most people will never understand. I can talk to the creator of life at any point of the day. Despite the fact that he is overseer of everything created, he cares about the smallest details in my life. Christmas is not just about the baby in the manger, it's about the new creation we become when our sin is confronted with this justice. The cross is justice ag...

Monday, December 14, 2009. He was having a bad day because he missed his daughter. The smile on his face at the end of our visit made the whole evening worth going. Saturday, December 12, 2009. Missing My Home in Africa. God truely blessed me over and abundantly. I always wonder if the people I worked with remember me and if my influence is there. I lived with Becky on the weekends. It was so hard to walk out of her house for the last time. It was so hard to hand over the keys of my cottage, clean out my desk, and hug my deep friends and family goodbye. Here, There and Everywhere. How to teach conversational English in an African .
