Where are the Allens?: Soccer and End of School
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2009/06/soccer-and-end-of-school.html
Where are the Allens? Thursday, June 18, 2009. Soccer and End of School. Enjoyed another season of soccer starting in April. This year she was on the Flaming Tigers team. Her favorite position is still goalie, but she has gotten better at defense, and at actually kicking the ball. This posed picture reminded me of a button I had seen of Spencer as a young soccer player. Also reached her Reading Counts goal and ended the year with 628 points. She earned a trophy and a reading lamp. June 18, 2009 at 1:42 PM.

Where are the Allens?: No Training Wheels!
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2009/09/no-training-wheels.html
Where are the Allens? Wednesday, September 2, 2009. So what does potty training have to do with riding a bike? Not much, except for the method. I've been telling Michenna. Said, "Daddy, can we just take off the training wheels and try? He did, she tried, and SUCCEEDED! It took her maybe 2 minutes to figure out how to ride without training wheels. Beginning and end of bike "training". You may want to watch the video without sound; our neighbor was mowing his lawn.). Michenna is just awesome! At Disneyworl...

Where are the Allens?: January 2009
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2009_01_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Saturday, January 24, 2009. Is at that age where she wants to make money, but she isn't quite old enough to babysit or mow lawns. She asked me to help her find a way to earn some money (okay, she actually asked for a raise in her allowance and I said no), and this was the solution:. She gets $1 for every sidewalk square. The square must pass inspection before she gets paid. She has so much fun - and gets soaked every time. Sunday, January 18, 2009. A solution has been found! Subscri...

Where are the Allens?: April 2008
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2008_04_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Wednesday, April 23, 2008. FHE and a cake. This week I went a little overboard and did an elaborate FHE. We started with a scripture scavenger hunt. For example, one of the scriptures was Malachi 3:10 and the item (in this case a picture) was hidden in a window. After we found all 16 pictures, we made the footprints for each prophet based on the summaries on the backs of the pictures. We "walked" the footprints up the back door to the sign. It was so much fun! If I had a million dol...

Where are the Allens?: March 2009
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2009_03_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Friday, March 27, 2009. Our first day in Sydney was crazy. We went to the Sydney Aquarium where we saw . . . Perry - Perry the Platypus. Agent P. (I thought Mom and Dad would like that.). We also saw dugongs, which ancient mariners thought were mermaids. The dugong is on the left. The mermaid is on the right. You make the call. Our heights compared to a dugong baby, called a pig. Next we went to Wildlife World. Spencer hates spiders, but he agreed to be in the picture. That was not ...

Where are the Allens?: September 2008
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Wednesday, September 10, 2008. Back to Guam, back to school, back to blog. We're home from our 30 days leave. Michenna has started 2nd grade and is loving it! She told us today that her teacher is going to start giving her harder daily work, because the 2nd grade work is too easy. I just thought, "Yep, that's my life. Trying to keep up with an insanely smart 7-year-old.". 20 years ago…. 1 I was starting 6th grade at a brand new elementary school about 1 mile away from our house.

Where are the Allens?: Quick Trip to Saipan
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2009/08/quick-trip-to-saipan.html
Where are the Allens? Wednesday, August 26, 2009. Quick Trip to Saipan. Spencer and I wanted to do something special before he deploys again, so we decided to take a quick trip to Saipan. The manager at Tony Roma's told us about the Thursday night market on the street in front of our hotel. It sounded exciting. We walked and shopped and then checked into our hotel. Saipan's mascot is Saipanda. Spencer did not like the appearance of Saipanda; he felt the nose was too weird. But I wanted my picture...Frida...

Where are the Allens?: June 2008
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2008_06_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Friday, June 27, 2008. Finally - A Lost Tooth! Michenna finally lost her first tooth! I had to pull the tooth out (yuck) because she bit into a piece of food and twisted the tooth almost completely out. I was afraid she would swallow the tooth if we waited any longer to pull it. You can see the gap (sort of - the adult tooth is mostly grown in) on the lower left. Michenna is VERY excited and can't wait for the tooth fairy to visit. Monday, June 16, 2008. The Lone Star State. CAN Y'A...

Where are the Allens?: July 2008
http://wherearetheallens.blogspot.com/2008_07_01_archive.html
Where are the Allens? Wednesday, July 16, 2008. Tour of Guam 1: Northern Guam. When we learned that we had been assigned to Guam, our first thought was, "What and where is Guam? We pictured Guam as a small, flat island, with little to do and see. Over the past year, and especially in the past 4 weeks, we have discovered that, though it is a small island, Guam is certainly not flat and there is too much to do and see! Next stop is Andersen Air Force Base:. And Tarague (tuh-rah'-gee) Beach:. And here is a ...
