Still Swinging: Generosity Backfired, or Why Did They Learn What I Was Teaching?
http://stillswinging.blogspot.com/2014/11/generosity-backfired-or-why-did-they.html
Tuesday, November 11, 2014. Generosity Backfired, or Why Did They Learn What I Was Teaching? It's always been a goal to have our children be service-minded, good workers, and generous. We've followed what those smarter than us have said works to do that - be involved together on service projects, take them to deliver meals and treats (Melanie is excellent at making cinnamon rolls, as several ward members would testify), and just generally be on the watch for opportunities to do good and do it. Trying to ...

Buchanan Maine-ia: December 2013
http://buchananmaine-ia.blogspot.com/2013_12_01_archive.html
A happy family is but an earlier Heaven". Sunday, December 29, 2013. We had a spectacular Christmas! We felt very blessed to have The Mr. home with us, and the time together as a family was the best gift any of us could have hoped for! Of course, we missed our distant relatives dearly, but were grateful to be able to skype them - thank you, modern technology, for bridging the gap and making holidays so much happier when you're far from family! Grins was super excited about his remote control helicopter!

Buchanan Maine-ia: August 2013
http://buchananmaine-ia.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html
A happy family is but an earlier Heaven". Monday, August 5, 2013. It's been ages since I posted a Menu Plan, but I like doing it for 2 reasons: First, it encourages me to get organized with my meal planning, and gives me some sense of accountability for following through, and second, it's fun looking back and finding what meals we've enjoyed over the years, and how our diet has changed (or what 'staples' have remained the same). Tuesday: Cauliflower crust Pizza, tossed green salad. The One Needful Thing.

Still Swinging: Baked Ziti
http://stillswinging.blogspot.com/2014/05/baked-ziti.html
Friday, May 23, 2014. Until 2 days after Isaac was born, I had never heard of Baked Ziti. A neighbor brought me some, this recipe. I believe, and it was delicious. A couple weeks later another lovely friend in the neighborhood brought me some, and mentioned it was another friend's recipe. WOW - even more delicious! I think I hoarded the leftovers for myself. A couple weeks later, the friend who's recipe it happened to be called to say she was dropping something off. (I have great neighbors, don't I?

Still Swinging: February 2014
http://stillswinging.blogspot.com/2014_02_01_archive.html
Monday, February 17, 2014. My sister introduced us to a great way of making roast that our family LOVES. The blog she got it from calls it Mississippi Roast, but my sister renamed it Dragon Meat and we're sticking with that. Put your roast (or two - you'll want leftovers, just adjust ingredients accordingly) in the crock pot. Sprinkle one packet of Hidden Valley Ranch mix over the roast. Sprinkle one packet of Au. Place a whole stick of butter on top of the roast. Cook for 8 hours or so. Strait is the ga...

These Are Our Hall Ways: Bartlett in June
http://ourhallways.blogspot.com/2014/09/bartlett-in-june.html
These Are Our Hall Ways. Sunday, September 14, 2014. Adam went to Bartlett the week before Sam went to camp. They had some work projects for anyone that wanted to come up and help, so Jamie and Adam went up Friday evening, got him set up, and Jamie came home the next day. Before we dropped Sam off at Aspen Ridge we drove up and said hi to Adam. (Okay, yes, his mom needed to see that he was okay.) Of course he was. Nice photo bomb, Sam. Noraahsein's Blog: Our trip to Utah July 2011
http://noraahsein.blogspot.com/2012/12/our-trip-to-utah-july-2011.html
Monday, December 17, 2012. Our trip to Utah July 2011. You don't appreciate how green it is until you don't have it anymore. In July we went home to Utah. While we were there we saw both sides of the family. It is so good to see family when you haven't seen them in such a long period of time! One of the greatest blessings of living close to family is having your kids play with their cousins. They missed their cousins like crazy! We stayed at my sister, Rachelle's house. This is Sophy's sleeping position.

Wednesday, October 24, 2012. While in El Paso they had the coldest winter in 30 years. Homes and commercial buildings were shut down because it got down past freezing. Well, that summer was one of the driest summers in another record setting years. It was over 100 days of going without rain. Washing off the mud. Splashing in the mud. Links to this post.
