http://anamericanhouseholdinpoland.blogspot.com/2009_10_01_archive.html
An American Household in Poland. Monday, October 26, 2009. First Day of the International School. We had a great day here in Gdansk! First of all, the sun was shining for the first time in a long time. It was about 50 degrees today so it was warm and sunny! We got student identification cards for them. So we should be just fine on the trains now! Now that we have them, no one will probably ever question us about it again. We got home at about 4:15 and it was already getting dark. It is going to b...On th...

Monday, October 26, 2009. A day in the life of. With all due respect to the Beatles and Ivan Denisovich, I thought some folks might like to know about our daily life in Poland. (I'll blog about orientation in Poznan some other day.). Among others) to him. Zora has her share of books, too. Second, we don't have a dishwasher, so we must wash dishes after every meal. We have to wash them in a bathroom sink and dry them in the next room. Not quick. Not convenient. Third, we purchased a clothes washer, but th...

An American Household in Poland: Progress and Fun
http://anamericanhouseholdinpoland.blogspot.com/2010/06/progress-and-fun.html
An American Household in Poland. Thursday, June 24, 2010. Monday was a very busy day! I have been to Walmart and Target, each more than once. I stopped by the Hen House and was even able to produce my Hen House card when prompted to do so! He said he was worried about whether or not the car would make it home. It was a very nice welcome home, though I was unable to get a picture with everyone who attended! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). An American Economist in Gdansk. View my complete profile.

An American Household in Poland. Sunday, July 4, 2010. The End of This Story. I started this blog/journal/diary in April 2009. I wanted to document this adventure for my kids. My first entry was titled "Are We Really Going? Today we celebrate America's 234th birthday. As we continue to transition back to our normal, I realize that we are no longer An American Household in Poland. We are simply An American Household. It's been a pleasure. Friday, July 2, 2010. An American Household in Poland: Here, Kitty, Kitty
http://anamericanhouseholdinpoland.blogspot.com/2010/06/here-kitty-kitty.html
An American Household in Poland. Monday, June 28, 2010. Here, Kitty, Kitty. Our cat, Miranda, is home! When we went to Poland, Miranda spent those 10 months with our friends who live here in Olathe. Ginny is a cat lover, sometimes referred to by her family as the "cat whisperer.". But after a very short time she started walking around just like she normally does. She seems to remember this home and very quickly started acting like she was comfortable here. I'm sure she will miss her animal buddie...Here,...

An American Household in Poland: September 2009
http://anamericanhouseholdinpoland.blogspot.com/2009_09_01_archive.html
An American Household in Poland. Tuesday, September 29, 2009. Our First Full Day. Myles has been here for a little while so he has wandered already and showed us around. There is a tiny little store right across the street from us that sells soda, meat and a few other things. It is like a very tiny convenience store. There is another one about two blocks away and then a bigger grocery store about six blocks away. After that we got on the tram and rode to the University where Myles is teaching. We also go...

An American Household in Poland: January 2010
http://anamericanhouseholdinpoland.blogspot.com/2010_01_01_archive.html
An American Household in Poland. Friday, January 29, 2010. We've Been Downright Boring. I am so glad that we had a couple of birthdays in January to liven things up, or we all might have gone mad. It has been very cold, and according to news reports here, the harshest winter in Europe in over 20 years. We can't say we've been too thrilled to be a part of THAT! But we are thankful to have a nice place to live, a big grocery store 1/2 a mile away and the internet at our fingertips. There was a news story a...

An American Household in Poland. Sunday, February 28, 2010. The News from Pooland. I am not a big fan of dogs in general. I don't hate dogs, I just don't really care one way or the other. I'm just not a love me, love my dog kind of gal. What I am not enjoying is the massive amount of doggie doo doo that is everywhere. Wednesday, February 24, 2010. Scary Noises and We're Out of Bread.
