My Life as a Teenage Exchange Student

My Life as a Teenage Exchange Student. Saturday, July 21, 2012. That opportunity to surrender yourself to the tide has always held a certain appeal. Those moments of elusive clarity must be worth the thrashing of the sea foam, we tell ourselves, it simply must. Be Well, I've inhabited that limbo between drowning and swimming for a year now, and I can tell you with a generous amount of certainty that it is. The kind of background that comes with the words. My Life as a Teenage Exchange Student. Saturday, September 24, 2011. The Compass Concept, Pictures, and Titles. Let me disperse the photos throughout this entry. Randomly! I hope this doesn't annoy anyone. This is a scene from AnywhereInMalaysia, because it's all in a Tropical Climate! Almost every weekend, now that Ramadan is Over! Walking around Times Square Mall in KL, stumbled upon this Boutique and Couldn't Help Myself! Whatever the reason, I’ve been good at finding my way around and I do not ...

My estimate is about 15 people read this blog TOPS. Correct me if I'm wrong in the comments below. So, without further ado, here it is; all typed up and ready to be squished in with 1-2 of the 15-ish pictures I sent along. Whew- I'm all nervous again, don't judge me! 8220;Why are you here? I've been pretty incapable of uploading pictures, but instead of catching up, I'm just going to start somewhere, give you dates and situations and hope that context aids comprehension. A Delicious Wedding with Ibu and Zana (when she was still in Malaysia, sometime in November. KL by day- the towers are a big part of living in KL, I use them to judge where I am and the little girl scout finds her way home :). Yellom and red and so delicious.

okay, bu bye! | ghana with the wind

https://ghanawiththewind.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/okay-bu-bye

Ghana with the wind. I bet you didn’t know…. Okay, bu bye! Reality is setting in. I leave my home in one day. But I return to my other home in six days. I leave behind a beautiful country, filled with friends and family. And return to my country filled with familiar friends and family. Worse part is, I don’t know how to feel, because I don’t know what I feel. I’m lost in a sea of emotions. I love you guys! And to my friends and family that I’m leaving behind, mekwaaba! The Past few months… →. Fill in you...

A day in the life of Abena | ghana with the wind

https://ghanawiththewind.wordpress.com/2012/03/01/a-day-in-the-life-of-abena

Ghana with the wind. I bet you didn’t know…. A day in the life of Abena. 6:15 alarm goes off. 6:45 I force myself to stop hitting snooze and get out of bed. 6:50 shower and dress in the world’s most unflattering and uncomfortable dress. 7:15 take tea and bread with mum and dad while watching the news or listening to the radio. 7:30 leave to school. Walk about a block and take two cars. 2:45 catch a tro-tro home. 3:30 arrive home, watch some Seize the Day (Spanish soap opera) and of course Oprah! Fun fact...

Be prepared to leave your heart in Ghana | ghana with the wind

https://ghanawiththewind.wordpress.com/2012/06/13/be-prepared-to-leave-your-heart-in-ghana

Ghana with the wind. I bet you didn’t know…. Be prepared to leave your heart in Ghana. I will soon be returning to the land of the free and home of the brave. I know I’ve mentioned before how time truly does fly by as you get older but it’s absolutely crazy to think that it has been nine months. It’s like as you get older all of the clocks around you are in fast forward when all you want them to do is slow down. Now I know you’re probably like. This, is a load of crap. It’s the small things. I will be go...

Just another WordPress.com site. Some photos from my family’s world trip! Glad to hear you are doing so well! With the news about major flooding, I was worried about all the AFS YES students I chaperoned to Thailand. Are you in touch with Liz, Sage, Tyler or Lillyanna or any of the others I met at the arrival camp? If you have any of their blog or photo site info, please email it to me. Your photos are awesome! I looked at TYLER’S BLOG BUT HE HAS NOT POSTED SINCE HIS ARRIVAL. Is he OK?

The Past few months… | ghana with the wind

https://ghanawiththewind.wordpress.com/2012/09/28/the-past-few-months

Ghana with the wind. I bet you didn’t know…. The Past few months…. It feels like I left Ghana a lifetime ago and it really makes me sad. I can already feel everything slipping away! When I returned to the states I realized how much of the language I knew because most of my thoughts were in Twi. But now just a short three month later I’ve already started to forget! And it really, really sucks. The food, my amazing family, everything! But I like to think that I’m handling it pretty well. Okay, bu bye!

Ghana with the wind. I bet you didn’t know…. So about a month ago I dropped out of school. Now I know you’re probably thinking wtf how will you graduate? Everyday that I enter the classroom the students rise from their seats and recite,. 8220;Afternoon Madam, you are welcome”. I then reply “Thank you, how are you? And then they respond with a total disregard of how they’re actually doing with, “we are fine, thank you and you? 8220;I’m fine, sit down”. 8220;Thank you Madam”. Haters gonna hate →. I can&#82...

my life...ups and downs. how terribly cliche

Sunday, January 15, 2012. Hi finals are in 2 days, so that leaves me a solid 24 hours to waste. So, i found this poem i wrote last year for english. i really do think that society can really place way to much stress on students. and it just keeps getting worse. kids in elementary school are getting hours of homework. I never really had homework until 7th or 8th grade, maybe. As school’s repetition steadily bores,. We wait for our sweet release from its doors. Giving a perfect sense of when class ends.
