Little House on the Horizon: Good Eats
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/p/food.html
This is an oldy but goody! Last Christmas my mom participated in an event at our house that we will all remember for a lifetime. It was chopped meets test kitchen! She was given a list of things to make and also a list of ingredients to use. For example, "Hey mom, what can you do with all this pheasant? I can't wait to post pictures and share. If you haven't made the chowder below, quit wasting time and get in the kitchen. I have made it over and over with a variety of vegetables! Let's face it, I'm all ...

Little House on the Horizon: Travelling without Kids or Cows
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2015/04/travelling-without-kids-or-cows.html
April 10, 2015. Travelling without Kids or Cows. What an exciting day, we are travelling without kids or cows, just Ryan and me. It feels so odd. I think I left a suitcase full of things at home. My purse is twice as empty too. Things are missing.like the snack basket, trash can for car sickness and 50 cords powering every device to keep the kids entertained. And what a difference a year makes.we have grass coming up and if we ever get any rain we might get to mow. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).

Little House on the Horizon: Deep Thinking
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2015/04/deep-thinking.html
April 9, 2015. It has come time for a serious update. We are no longer the little house or red barn on the horizon. We've become a growing operation and built a house. I've updated about us and made a few changes to become passionate about blogging again. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Little House on the Horizon: June 2013
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
June 19, 2013. Baxter Black - About Woman's Work. I recently read this article in a magazine we receive, It's Woman's Work by Baxter Black. Here are a few sentences that I a really enjoyed. To the banker, loan officer, census taker and USDA, it is considered to be managed by the man. But…how many times have you heard some rancher or farmer introduce his wife as, “…this is my wife, she does the books.” I do it myself! I’ve already got a good one! June 13, 2013. I cannot commit at this point how often I wi...

Little House on the Horizon: December 2012
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2012_12_01_archive.html
December 11, 2012. This post is not about what is appropriate to wear to the barn - long pants, long sleeve shirt, boots, coat, gloves, etc. Although when other people are at our place or we're working a large load of calves, I'm dressed accordingly. Tana can often be found in dress up shoes, a princess dress, cowboy boots, coat, hat, gloves, flip flops, whatever, except when it's something series. Besides, most of the time she plays in the shade or with the cats while we work. December 7, 2012. With the...

Little House on the Horizon: May 2015
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2015_05_01_archive.html
May 18, 2015. Rain is a Good Thing. Rain is a good thing, rain makes corn and corn makes whiskey. But, rain makes people eating mosquitoes too! We have been very blessed with several inches of rain over the last couple of weeks. While we need a break to dry up, every time it rains we begin to increase our estimated hay production! All of our pastures are saturated. We took a quick trip out by four wheeler to check a set and here are a few pictures. Getting a little deep! Lake Williams continues to rise.

Little House on the Horizon: Bunkhouse Before & After
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2014/03/bunkhouse-before-after.html
March 13, 2014. Bunkhouse Before and After. There is almost no need for words on this post. The 900 square foot bunkhouse served its purpose, moved us to our land, and raised our children for a five years. The time came to build a house and we moved out. Here it is just before repainting. And here it is now! Same cabinets, except we branded the corner one, see the brand in the oven. The oven got a new coat of paint and the walls a new color. It looks amazing. Check out a few of the other pages today too!

Little House on the Horizon: October 2012
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
October 16, 2012. There are angels in this world and I hope that I can become a more observant driver as well. As a driver in front of her saw her truck leave the road and turned around to check on her. I cannot say that I have turned around and checked on many strange things lately. So instead of repeating the what ifs and calling my mom every 30 minutes for an update on Tab, I'll share a few things on the blog, including a new recipe and the beginning of the story about two heifers from 14 hours away!

Little House on the Horizon: Part 1 - What Keeps me Organized
http://littlehouseonthehorizon.blogspot.com/2015/04/part-1-what-keeps-me-organized.html
April 14, 2015. Part 1 - What Keeps me Organized. I recently saw a Pinterest link for a diy family planner. After trying three other calendar systems this year, I resorted to a three ring binder and have made my own planner. Before I share that, and since this binder came first, I want to introduce my house binder. We each have a different way of staying organized, no one system works for everyone, and it may take years to perfect. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Remember Who You Are - Guest Post.
