Overall, I am doing X very well but I think it’s possible to do (subset of X) slightly better. And you’ll already be on your way to finding a solution. It can also apply to hiring other people. July 24, 2015. For the readers that don’t follow me on Facebook, I ran a survey yesterday, an experiment of sorts. I posted the survey all over Facebook where I thought it would be seen by a lot of college students. I even directly messaged a lot of people and asked them to take a quick survey of about 7 Multiple Choice Questions. The chance to win a $10 gift card. I put up two of them in a raffle. In 24 hours, I’ve gotten 52 responses. My ask was simple and uniform in most cases:. It’s my first ti...

Separating Truth from Honesty. June 29, 2016. Disclaimer: This is a philosophical piece and is therefore, a tad longer than usual. Sorry if that upsets you but I hope you find it worthwhile. Thanks! I vividly remember an interview earlier this Spring. It was a second round with the startup’s head marketer and one question screwed me. Tell me about your interest in marketing.”. This was my one chance. Learning on the fly. June 28, 2016. When crawling was no longer acceptable, we learned how to walk. There...

Polyphasic Sleep: 1 Month Update. July 31, 2015. Well to be accurate, it’s about 3 days short of a full month, but who’s keeping track. I think I’ve also given up some enhanced cognitive abilities and euphoric feelings people report to have on Uberman but it’s ok. I know Uberman is not a sustainable practice and this is. Don’t get me wrong though, I’ll probably take a second stab at it between Thanksgiving and New Years. I’m keeping track of the times I oversleep now with a large traditional calend...

July 20, 2015. Anybody that tells you blogging is easy has no idea what they are talking about. There is no preparation you can do before you begin besides just getting started and accept that you’ll mistakes along the way. You’ll have no idea how nice (or more likely, ugly) your website design is until you show it to somebody outside your family. You won’t know decent writing from shit until you look 20 posts back and ask yourself what drugs you were on while you were editing. Of them fail rather quickly.

14 Thoughts and Misconceptions of Meditation. March 18, 2015. Meant for those who don’t meditate. 1 Meditation is a sort of “reset” button for your mind. 2 If you haven’t given meditation at least a week, then you haven’t put in enough time to say it doesn’t work for you. 3 The goal of meditating is not to clear your mind, it’s to notice when your mind wanders and bring it back to your breath. 4 Your mind WILL wander. Frequently. March 14, 2015. The price of starting a habit. March 12, 2015. It’s e...

Polyphasic Sleep Day 20. July 22, 2015. Hey guys, I am really close to hitting the 3 week mark and as exciting as it is, there are some nights I feel like I’m at day 1. This post will be a more general update of how I’ve been feeling these past few days and my attempt to answer why. If there were ever a polyphasic sleep update of mine that I recommend reading to finish, it’s this one and for that reason, I won’t be posting a “Major Takeaways” section on this post. I don’t know if it ever did that l...

February 25, 2015. It’s the story you make up to convince yourself that you don’t actually want to do the thing you really want to do. People are really good at creating these stories and society is really good at convincing you there is nothing wrong with hiding. My dream is to write for a living but maybe it’d be a good idea to work in finance for five or ten years to save up some money. Is it possible to care too much about your grades? February 23, 2015. The question of truth though, is that if it...
