Thursday, August 17, 2017. The Cross Is Not a Symbol of Hate. I'm confused about the terminology of the people that were "protesting" in Charlottesville, VA. I confess I don't know what a white nationalists is. What nation are they supposed to represent? But I can tell you what I'm not confused about. I'm not confused what Jesus Christ stood for. The first official day of the Kenya Mission trip for me was at the I Can Fly school in Machakos, Kenya, on September 16, 2013. We were greeted by a lovely young black American woman named Sha' Givens. Sha' was so excited and proud to show us the school and especially the Butterfly Project dormitory and new beds. Friday, December 26, 2014. Christmas Reflections. "Satisfied". Satisfied. So many people headed back to the store today because they are not satisfied with their Christmas gift in some way. But Jesus was born. Mary was satisfied with her bundle of joy. The babe, this gift, wrapped in swaddling clothes. The Magi came to see the babe and were satisfied. they bowed in worship. This perfect gift, the lamb nailed to a cross. and the wrath of God was satisfied. Because God was satisfied. And we are satisfied.

Monday, October 21, 2013. Kenya Mission trip/ 2013, Machakos people. I was looking at my blog today and realized I did not finish blogging about my Kenya trip! From my journal: (Date: September 17, 2013). I taught on The Shunamite woman and Jochebed and Miriam. I also taught on Psalm 91, "Under His Wings". The women who interpreted for us did an excellent job. That is such an important thing! If the women can't understand us, then God's instruction to them through us can be hindered. How special they are.

She is still in the early stages of speaking, but she is putting together sentences very well and we are trying to teach her the proper way to say different words. Excuse me, my daddy (or my mommy)." Kate was in the room with him. When they introduced Justin Bieber she was beside herself and kept chanting his name. It was so funny. Even this morning she asked her daddy to see Justin Bieber on the TV. (Sports Center was playing highlights of the game). Excuse me, I now have to go download Baby, Baby, Baby Ohhh.
