Was the day I climbed into a van blinded by tears, and rode down the mountain from Kodai, wondering if I’d return again. That date has stuck with me since then, bringing grief and longing to my heart each time it passes. I grew, I changed, I put down roots in America but May 21. Still brought tears I couldn’t explain.
