It's a long road, but it's mine. It’s the last night before I start the pre-surgery diet. And Jesus Christ I am frightened. I didn’t realise how scared I was until tonight. But I’m petrified. Will I still go and sip a single cup of coffee while my friends eat eggs and toast? Will I still go and nurse a glass of wine, my friends sneaking guilty looks at each other?
