歴史・法物 – 妙楽寺のホームページ

始めは、天台宗に属し 妙安寺 と称し、現在地より東北に500 の山県市伊佐美 惣賀あったが、天文11年 1542年 に、土岐 斎藤の戦いで焼失した。 当寺の開基は智城法師 長禄元年=1457年 宗主 蓮如上人 と過去帳から推測される。 その後、天正年間 1573 1591年=宗主 顕如上人 に浄土真宗 大桑惣道場として、現在の地に復興した。 宗主 准如上人のころ、第１世 善西法師 1649年 慶安2年寂 が入寺、1602年 慶長7年3月 裏書の阿弥陀如来絵像を本山から下付されている。 尚、善西法師には4人の兄弟があり、長男は現在の安八郡に、その他3人がそれぞれ県内に浄土真宗の寺院を構えその後、代4世 賢流法師 1741年 寛保元年寂=宗主 寂如上人 が親鸞聖人絵像、蓮如上人絵像、聖徳太子絵像、七高僧絵像、親鸞聖人御絵伝4幅 1701年 元禄14年裏書 を本山から下付されている。 第6世 白道法師 1813年 文化10年寂=宗主 文如上人 が先ごろ修復された屋根の記名から、寛政8年 1797年 ごろ現在の本堂が建立されたものと思われる。 第12世 深道法師 1945年 昭和20年=宗主 勝如上人 は戦死。
