In the last two days while on holiday in Wales I have visited Teifi-Marshes nature reserve twice and have enjoyed both visits thoroughly. It’s the home of the Welsh Wildlife Centre near Cardigan. The variety of wildlife is great; it has a mix of woodland, river and coastal birds and animals. I blitzed the camera and managed to capture these shots. Yes, I caught the kingfisher poo-ing! http://focus-on-wildlife.blogspot.com/2015/08/siskin.html
Saturday, 1 August 2015. In the apple tree are six bird feeders. we get all sorts of birds on the feeders, blue tits, goldfinches and more. We also sometimes get oddities, coal tits, greater spotted woodpeckers, goldcrests and best of all, a siskin. Best of all, a siskin. Siskins normally visit our feeders in the winter time, this is why it was amazing to see one during the summer holidays. Thank you so much for your comment. I will try and reply soon. These are really cracking waders and by the end of the session i totalled 4 birds. Whilst i was looking at the Curlew Sandpipers.

Just another WordPress.com site. End of season green tomatoes…. September 26, 2010. Well, they took a while but now they’re turning red, there seems to be no stopping them! I keep picking them and every day there are more – great as we use a lot of tomatoes, they most definitely won’t go to waste. Also, there are still so many green tomatoes that I am thinking of making a green tomato chutney with some of them (recipe to follow – when I have tried and tested it! Got a strawberry patch?
