As a teacher, it's an unexpected gift that brings you back to your childhood when you see your school name flash across the TV screen along with the words CLOSED. Each day I purposefully try to take it all in. Each and every moment goes by so quickly. And no matter how I try to appreciate the seconds. It can still slip away. My Peace at Home. Cooking, crafting, gathering, laughing. Sunday, August 2, 2015. August, the lazy Sunday. June, July, and August are very similar to Friday, Saturday, and Sunday for a teacher! And frankly, I can't believe that it is August already. Hmmm, that feeling of Sunday before a long work week. I feel like June (Friday) and July (Saturday) went so quickly because we were on the go! On the go traveling, boating, playing, and visiting. Fun stuff, of course. Time might just slow down too ;).

As teachers, we often complain about kids being "Checked-out" at this time of the year. They don't want to do their homework, they are focused on the temperature, and they are constantly staring out the window instead of wanting to learn more math. OF COURSE THEY ARE CHECKED OUT! It is absolutely beautiful outside! It's light out well into 8 PM! I know I am!

My rototiller wouldn't start today so I turned over my garden by hand. I loved every minute of it. I feel I will earn the rewards that my garden gives back to me.
