My Prostate Cancer Path: 25 March - And the story continues .....

http://myprostatecancerpath.blogspot.com/2012/03/25-march-and-story-continues.html

My Prostate Cancer Path. Sunday, March 25, 2012. 25 March - And the story continues . When there’s been no update on this blog for a while, it’s a good indication that things are going well and I’ve been getting back to our usual activities. That has been the case. I’ve just passed 75 days since my surgery. I was told there would be a four to six week recovery period and that for some patients, it is longer than that. For almost all men, there is a period of incontinence of varying degrees. The youngster...

My Prostate Cancer Path: January 2012

http://myprostatecancerpath.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html

My Prostate Cancer Path. Tuesday, January 24, 2012. 23 January - Decatheterized! Two weeks after surgery, I was back up at the hospital, this time to have the Foley catheter removed. Having a catheter was a totally new experience to me and might be to some of you. Here’s my take on what happened to me. During the prostatectomy, a catheter was installed. Basically this is a tube which carries urine from the bladder to the outside world. And the catheter helps for the post-operative period. It did mean tha...

My Prostate Cancer Path: October 2010

http://myprostatecancerpath.blogspot.com/2010_10_01_archive.html

My Prostate Cancer Path. Thursday, October 14, 2010. 14 October 2010 - Active Surveillance continues. Appointment with Dr. Dwyer for my biopsy results. He says I’m consistent- third identical biopsy results. Still T2a, still 4 cores out of 12 showing prostate cancer, still 3 3 = 6 Gleason score, PSA is 2.2. I will have my next PSA test in six months and at that time he will decide when to schedule another biopsy. So the news is good. I asked “Will I hear from you? You’re fine.”. My Prostate Cancer Path: 6 February - So How Am I Doing?

http://myprostatecancerpath.blogspot.com/2012/02/6-february-so-how-am-i-doing.html

My Prostate Cancer Path. Monday, February 6, 2012. 6 February - So How Am I Doing? It is four weeks today since I had my surgery. There hasn’t been a lot to report since the catheter was removed two weeks ago, but I’ll give you an idea how things are going now. First, I am feeling better every day and for that I feel fortunate. I am making a conscious effort to pace myself, and do not plan ahead. We decide each day what we may be doing that day. And it’s working for us. By the time I was home a couple of...

My Prostate Cancer Path

My Prostate Cancer Path. Monday, August 13, 2012. Summertime and the Livin' Is Easy! It seems difficult to believe that we are nearing the mid-August mark. I realize that it's been a long time since I updated this prostate cancer blog, but I consider that a good thing! Not much news here. However, I'll share what I have. On April 30, my 68th birthday, we were part of a delegation from our support group who attended the Wake Up Call breakfast at the Delta Beauséjour. We had a table with information an...
