Coup de García: September 2014
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2014_09_01_archive.html
Sunday, September 21, 2014. We got a tour of the main church. The detail was amazing with all of the altars gold-leafed. The gold leaves were stuck on using cactus juice. We drove up a labyrinth of streets to get to this Rio-esque Christ. The platform was littered with big black beetles which terrified Iris. View of the city from the teleferico. The kids pretended to be afraid of heights. Iris wasn't pretending but isn't showing her terror in this pic. View leaving the city. Thursday, September 18, 2014.

http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2014_12_01_archive.html
Thursday, December 18, 2014. Claire and I went to AZ for Max's baptism and Olivia's baby blessing. They thought about swimming, but didn't' quite make it. We saw a play, "The Best Christmas Pageant Ever," I book a remember from my childhood and one we read while traveling in Mexico with my mom. This little baby is not good birth control. I choked on my "Amen" to that one. Thursday, December 11, 2014. I found this gem from last year. The first gift of Christmas wasn’t. Gold, frankincense, or myrrh,. This ...

Coup de García: January 2015
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2015_01_01_archive.html
Friday, January 30, 2015. The kids have been in their rooms playing a made-up game for the past hour or so (they get the last Friday of every month off of school). I heard Elijah say, "Since I am the richest one of all and the nicest one of all." And he trailed off. Wait, is he David's son? Tuesday, January 27, 2015. View from my bedroom. View from my kitchen. The view in Vera Cruz. On that note.Good night my love. I wish you sweet,. Tuesday, January 13, 2015. Saturday, January 10, 2015. We also cooked a...

Coup de García: July 2014
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2014_07_01_archive.html
Sunday, July 27, 2014. I love that I can buy tomato-scented shampoo and chile-scented conditioner. The former was a little much, but I'm sitting here reading, distracted b/c I dream of tasting my chile hair. Sunday, July 20, 2014. A typical Mexican Saturday. A typical Mexican Saturday: A trip to the farm, a little soccer, an attempted kidnapping, then churros. Claire the Conjejito starred in an anti-littering skit:. Elijah boogied down as a potro:. Then we hung out at the granga:. Saturday, July 12, 2014.

Coup de García: July 2015
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2015_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 6, 2015. We started the fourth off with a run (D,C, &E). Then a wet hike. While the older 2 reveled in the rain and wet, gooey, cold mud, Iris kept up her refrain of, "I like to sit," "riding in cars is better." And she couldn't get her mind off the quesadillas that awaited her. So the 2 of us stared up early and waited for the others while enjoying. Homemade blue corn tortillas filled with Oaxacan cheese. Makes my mouth water. I also got Huitlacoche: mold that grows on corn. I really enjoy ...

Coup de García: Udalls in NOLA
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2015/08/udalls-in-nola.html
Thursday, August 13, 2015. The first thing Iris said to my mom was, "Grandma, Sybil can talk now! Mom: "what does she say? We had dinner out at R'evolution in the Quarter. My favorite part was when the waitress asked me if I ordered the "ernge" (not sure how you'd spell that pronunciation of "orange") shake. Dad claimed the monkey was Max's new girlfriend. Hence, Elijah's kissy-face. This room was white from ceiling to floor so that women's beauty would be more prominent. Hunt and Sarah et al.

Coup de García: November 2014
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 30, 2014. About a month ago, my friend told me she was cooking Thanksgiving lunch for 22 people. In my mind I pitied the poor woman, thankful I had avoided such a disaster. Guess how many people I had eating Thanksgiving lunch at my house yesterday? I did the mashed potatoes, cornbread, stuffing, pumpkin cake, jello/ pretzel salad and hosting. Even though I made it all from scratch, it was a pleasant experience, something I didn't think I'd admit to. End of my parents' visit. It was hard...

Coup de García: A little corner in heaven
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2015/05/a-little-corner-in-heaven.html
Tuesday, May 19, 2015. A little corner in heaven. I am convinced that at least a corner in heaven is purely dedicated to. Napping with peaceful, cuddly babies. And there might be a corner somewhere else where insane men run after busses and then kick the doors and windows to smithereens when they finally stop at red lights. Where could that corner be? David, any clues? And here's a gem my mom found. I haven't changed one bit. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). Hunt and Sarah et al.

Coup de García: June 2015
http://coupdegarcia.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
Sunday, June 28, 2015. Today at church E and C belted out the closing hymn at the top of their lungs: "Las Familias Pueden Ser Eternas." I must admit, it brought tears to my eyes and turned the heads of many people. Too many people, including myself, sing the hymns as if they were lullabies. We need more rock stars at church. Wednesday, June 24, 2015. This is the standard after-church activity. It raises several questions:. Is it ok to play with used sacrament cups? Is it ok to torture creatures of God?
