The Luxury of Words: September 2008
http://verbalselfindulgence.blogspot.com/2008_09_01_archive.html
The Luxury of Words. Sunday, September 28, 2008. The 'Queue'rious Incident of the Music-Lovers in the Night Time. What on earth was she doing there then? Sunday, September 21, 2008. Give Me This Day My Daily Book. I don’t generally care much for translated works, but this translation of Gulzar’s poem by Pavan Varma (whose original book, Being Indian, I enjoyed very much) touched a chord. The poem is entitled Books and here’s the first verse:. They peer from beyond. Glasses of locked cupboards,. That impo...

The Luxury of Words: Dairy Overdose
http://verbalselfindulgence.blogspot.com/2009/11/dairy-overdose.html
The Luxury of Words. Thursday, November 5, 2009. I've just polished off a whole litre of chocolate milk, two huge cubes of cheese and a chocolate sponge pudding. And this wasn't even dinner. Awful British vegetarian food has turned me into a dairy guzzling glutton of the type that only the Swiss would approve heartily of. I'm turning either non-vegetarian or vegan from tomorrow. Non - vegetarian. You love milk and cheese too much to become a vegan :). November 5, 2009 at 7:44 PM. It was all just bravado.

The Sunburns Forever: December 2008
http://thestrayass.blogspot.com/2008_12_01_archive.html
Saturday, 20 December 2008. After what appeared to be a gentle reminder of the fact that I am no longer in NYC, this morning I logged onto everyone's favourite networking site and told the random part of the world that I am now in London. As much as I'd like to analyse and read into how and what made me do so a mere 4 months after shifting to London, I suspect I may have better things to do with my Saturday. (Gasp if you must at its implausibility). You may win or lose. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

The Luxury of Words: The Last Laugh
http://verbalselfindulgence.blogspot.com/2009/04/last-laugh.html
The Luxury of Words. Wednesday, April 29, 2009. I’ve been having a bad time driving wise. It doesn’t have anything to do with my technique (my driving skills have always been, and still are, flawless! For all the times that I’ve been subjected to the fury of their impatience on the road, I felt vindicated. April 29, 2009 at 11:33 PM. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Sunburns Forever: Get out of my city...
http://thestrayass.blogspot.com/2008/11/get-out-of-my-city.html
Saturday, 29 November 2008. Get out of my city. Last year, we academically explored how distance (physical or otherwise) tends to magnify the perception and/or impact of human rights violations. Ironic. Bless you, Bombay - don't give in. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Law and Other Things. Roger Cohen - Passages. Get out of my city.

The Sunburns Forever: Music Education - Class 3
http://thestrayass.blogspot.com/2008/07/music-education-class-3.html
Thursday, 24 July 2008. Music Education - Class 3. I know I have been somewhat inconsistent with the timing of my classes. I do hope that 'madness, gallivanting and laziness' offer my students adequate chronological explanation for my failings! Listen to Orion. When you're done, I'd advise listening to Call of Ktulu. Even my most soft-hearted (and soft-eared) readers will appreciate these. Until the next class. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). View my complete profile. Law and Other Things.

The Sunburns Forever: Happy Birthday Anna
http://thestrayass.blogspot.com/2005/04/happy-birthday-anna.html
Thursday, 14 April 2005. There's something about my. Room( ok - our room, anna! Just yesterday I had to render another blow to wasp conservation in Bombay ( I used a Tehelka this time - even better than an ET - refer to past blog for context). Today, just before I started punching my keyboard, this huge bumblebee ( and I mean HUGE- must have been the size of an old TT ball - 35 mm diameter i.e.). Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom). The Luxury of Words: August 2009
http://verbalselfindulgence.blogspot.com/2009_08_01_archive.html
The Luxury of Words. Monday, August 31, 2009. My Experiments with Teaching. After more than ten lectures of the Specific Relief Act under my belt, I think a few observations are in order:. 2 In so far as it is within your power to influence the timetable, lobby hard to avoid an afternoon slot. Especially steer clear of lectures that begin at 1:30 pm It's hard to compete with longing, lunchtime thoughts for the attention of your students. 5 If you've forgotten what you're going to say next, indulge in som...
