24 Hours of Big Bear 2006. I'll start this off by saying that we really missed having Jason for this race. Jason was struck by an SUV while training for the race on his road bike. He's doing fine and healing fast. He'll be off the bike for 4-6 weeks and happily be back riding with us soon. We were thinking of you, Grumpy J. I think we all said many times that we missed having you there. Riding at night is done with the use of special battery powered lights that attach to your helmet and/or handlebars.

Northern Neck of Virginia. The Northern Neck of Virginia is the area between the Potomac and Rappahannock Rivers. It is a 70-mile long peninsula east of Fredericksburg, Virginia. The photos above are of the bridge that crosses the Potomac from Maryland. The land is an interesting mix of farm land, historic landmarks and recreation areas. We've visited many sites on the northern neck.

495 Jumps

The formerly outlawed and now semi-legal jumps are definitely a great place to photograph. Steve and Chris graciously allowed me to photograph them on their first trip there. The jumps you see here are the table tops that are the beginners jumps. Return to MTB Roadtrips.

On the 5th anniversary of the September 11th attacks on the World Trand Center and the Pentagon I went out to photograph the light display put on at the Pentagon. I'll let the photos do the talking. It was a lot different when everything is green and in bloom. The Great House was set for a wedding later in the afternoon. It was beautiful!
