Sharing my passion for creating, food and the simple things in life by Patricia Leach. Giving thanks, Amsterdam style. November 26, 2014. This year, we’ve decided to skip the turkey since we won’t be the only vegetarians to share our table. We have settled instead on a lovely roasted sweet potato dish we recently enjoyed on a rare night out at the nearby Drover’s Dog. What’s in a name? How Little Field Birch came to be. Imagination In Flight: March 2011
http://imaginationinflightblog.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html
Day Zero Project - 101 in 1001 Days. Saturday, March 12. As I shared with you all earlier in the week, my son and mum are in Japan (In Tokyo yesterday) at the moment. The earthquake has been a very scary experience, had me freaking out there for a while but I'm very happy to say that my son and mum are safe. I wanted to share with you all what I've been doing in my Visual Arts Class. So stay tuned for some more pics. Saturday, March 12, 2011. Thursday, March 10. Finally Bit the Bullet. My son would be so...

life with soul: Dear Grandpa
http://lifewithsoul.blogspot.com/2014/05/dear-grandpa.html
Monday, May 12, 2014. To the generous man that gave his all to his family – better known as Grandpa. It is with a generous smile that I write my memories of my dear grandpa. My smile is as generous and huge as his personality was. He was never the kind to not give a damn – because he did give a damn. He forgave. He loved. He made us laugh. I will never again encounter a lemon that will ever compare to Grandpa’s lemons. Was it really true that his secret was fish guts? I’m so very grateful. All of his gra...

dust fairies & darwin: well...if it wasn't broken then it is now!
http://dustfairiesanddarwin.blogspot.com/2014/02/wellif-it-wasnt-broken-then-it-is-now.html
Dust fairies and darwin. A home schooling blog for the middle years. A little bit of mom talk. A touch of unschool. News from the mom bench. Tools of the trade. Wednesday, February 19, 2014. Wellif it wasn't broken then it is now! Where do I even start this story? I certainly didn't know anything had happened and neither did her coaches. The fracture can be seen on the right side of the toe in the first 'open' space. That is the growth plate and it should be evenly spaced along that line. The tri...I had...

Mealy and I: August 2014
http://mealyandi.blogspot.com/2014_08_01_archive.html
Monday, August 18, 2014. To say that Amelia is in love with this Perri Pullover. Would be an understatement. I made it a few weeks ago from fabric that I purchased off of the $2 table at Darn Cheap Fabrics. She is getting so much wear out of it and there will be more (in fact there is already a second cut out for her and one for me that I will get to when my over locker is back from getting repaired). I also thought that I would join in with Little White Dove's: Pinspired posts. Sunday, August 17, 2014.

Mealy and I: April 2015
http://mealyandi.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Monday, April 20, 2015. Glen Isla {Test Knit}. As the weather starts to cool here in Australia we start to see the designers from Oz crank out the patterns. I love nothing more than test knitting for Tikki. And when she said she was after test knitters I again stuck my knitting needles high in the air. This beanie was meant to be for me. What do you think the chances of getting it back are? Pattern : Glen Isla. Yarn : Evoke Hand Dyed Yarns: Four Bags Full Merino. Biggan Designs (8ply) Magenta for the brim.

Mealy and I: November 2014
http://mealyandi.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Wednesday, November 5, 2014. From fabric to a ball gown in a week. With a ball to attend I wanted to make a dress to wear. I true Kylie fashion I left it until the 11th hour before actually starting it. From fabric to ball gown in a week. I started with an idea from a picture. Fabric was purchased and a calico toile was constructed. Having the choice to wear either long or short to this event I was torn as to what I would do and truth be known is why I put this off for so long. Who's idea was this? Strai...

Mealy and I: October 2013
http://mealyandi.blogspot.com/2013_10_01_archive.html
Wednesday, October 23, 2013. Making the most of our {bonus} Kinder year. I won't ever look back on this year and wish that I had sent Baden to school when he should have started with his peers. Apart from getting to spend some special time with my little boy, it has also been fantastic for him. He has grown and developed so much this year and his language and social skills are far better then this time last year. I've completly failed Blogtober this year. Oh well. There is always next year. Anyway, Whils...

Warrenbird: April 2010
http://warrenbird.blogspot.com/2010_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 29, 2010. My creative space: can't.get.ahead. Woken by the garbage truck and realized we hadn't put our bins out. Again. A mad dash down the stairs, a quick check to see if they'd gone past our house yet. No. Hurrah! Quick, back to the courtyard, move those bins, quick, quick. Half asleep. Bins tangled in hose. Try to move it and it snaps off the tap. Water gushing everywhere. On the kerb. Success! Should be happy but instead I'm just crabby I missed that extra hour in bed! And that's not...
