Saturday, December 29, 2007. Been a bit quite. I was given the nod to buy an N800 Internet tablet for christmas, and it's seemed like a long wait. It's here now and was flashed straight away to 2008OS, and the difference over a 770 is amazing. The new OS is a big improvement in usablity over 2007, so much so thats it is hard to believe that it is only one revision. Here's my home screen. Is a really nice web server app based on PHP with a MySQL backend supporting Telldus Tellstick devices for controlling remote sockets. All you need is 3 wires - v, Gnd, and Data. unshielded cat5 cable along with RJ45 or RJ11 connectors. 1-wire devices are "plugged" into the 1-wire bus. To build my 1-wire system, I obtained some cat5 wall modules, and a couple of modular faceplates. Friday, June 30, 2006. I finally did it, I bottled the mystery fruit mixture that i fermented last autumn. It doesn't taste like urine, and it doesn't taste like champagne either. It tastes like white trash wine at its finest. And it will be white trash sparkling wine. A boiling honey/cinnamon/clove mixture was poured over top the fruit to pasteurize it. Sunday, November 01, 2009. Mythbuntu and diskless frontend Machines. I have now configured diskless booting over the network for my Myth system. It was remarkably easy as well. Used this link. And it worked straight away using my Toshiba A5 laptop as a testbed, in about 1 hour. Really really impressed. The frontend machine in one of the bedrooms is a Athlon XP 2000 with an Nvidia Geforce 4300MX hooked up via Svideo, so the graphical display did not show on first boot. Rebuild of Myth using Mythbuntu.
