My Simple Stories: Giving Thanks
http://mysimplestories.blogspot.com/2008/11/giving-thanks.html
Friday, November 28, 2008. On Tuesday, Hannah's fifth-grade class had a Thanksgiving feast. I was responsible for making the Succotash Stew (an Indian stew made of corn and beans). The feast consisted of authentic Pilgrim-Indian foods, so needless to say, Hannah and I were both wishing for some good ol' Cafe Rio or Carl's Jr. Honestly, how gross is pickled eggs in beet juice? Posted by Elder Caplin. That succatosh stew tasted awful! Trust me i know! All my love -you daughter hannah.
My Simple Stories: Party Planning 101
http://mysimplestories.blogspot.com/2008/11/party-planning.html
Friday, November 7, 2008. It's time to start planning Hannah's birthday party, so while driving her to school this morning, I gave her several options (a tea party at Primrose Retreat. Games at our house, going to the movies, an old-fashioned party/luncheon at the Lion House. Her reply was, "Let me talk to my people, and I'll get back with you.". Life was so much simpler when I could just choose the theme and plan the party :). Posted by Elder Caplin. My people are very afended!
My Simple Stories: October 2008
http://mysimplestories.blogspot.com/2008_10_01_archive.html
Friday, October 31, 2008. Halloween at our House. I had to get Hannah to school on time this morning because the Costume Parade. Started at 9:00 am sharp. We're typically running late since neither she nor I are morning people. I asked her once, "Does your teacher mind that you're always late? Her reply was, "Mom, she gets paid the same whether I'm there on time or not." Hmmm. Okay then. We'll enjoy sleeping in until Hannah goes to middle school when tardies count! Bring on the candy! And what did I do?
My Simple Stories: Bridal Shower for a Beautiful Bride
http://mysimplestories.blogspot.com/2008/11/bridal-shower-for-beautiful-bride.html
Saturday, November 8, 2008. Bridal Shower for a Beautiful Bride. One of my former students (currently my TA and great friend) is getting married next month, and I was invited to her bridal shower. It was such a fun theme- Deseret Book. Gifts She received lots of LDS-themed books, CDs, DVDs, and art for her new home. She is such a beautiful person inside and out. I've also had her fiance as a student, so it's great to be a part of their lives at such an exciting time. Posted by Elder Caplin.

Friday, November 28, 2008. I'm getting oh so tired of long hair, so today I decided to get six inches chopped off. I have a new favorite stylist. Now if only I could convince my boys that haircuts are a GOOD thing. Posted by Elder Caplin. Links to this post. Posted by Elder Caplin. Links to this post. Wednesday, November 19, 2008. Tales of almost grown-ups. Wednesday, June 29, 2011. You know what's more fun than watching soccer? Watching Silvia watch soccer. The video's sideways, but you get the point. Monday, June 20, 2011. Clean Up in Stall 5. Please forgive me ahead of time for my overuse of all-caps in this post, but I think it warrants it. This is a crazy story. And every word of it is true. Her pee lasted for what seemed for forever, and I wasn’t sure what to do. Do I take a picture with my phone? They thanked me for telling...
[Insert Title Here]: April 2012
http://emilyhaycock.blogspot.com/2012_04_01_archive.html
Tales of almost grown-ups. Tuesday, April 3, 2012. You know how a lot of people use their blogs as a journal? Do you want to know what's even better than that? This baby is changing and growing so fast and I want to remember everything that's going on- or at least the highlights. Blogging and/or writing pages in a journal is too tedious for me so I found the best solution for lazy moms like me. I found out about a company called. I should get paid for this crap! Tales of almost grown-ups. Sunday, February 12, 2012. A year ago, our Sunday nights consisted of baking cookies, watching The Walking Dead, and/or playing video games. Tonight, a Sunday, we are cleaning baby poo out of our bathtub. My, how the times have changed. Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
[Insert Title Here]: September 2011
http://emilyhaycock.blogspot.com/2011_09_01_archive.html
Tales of almost grown-ups. Wednesday, September 7, 2011. I'm probably having a baby tomorrow if there is room at the hospital. Induction junction, what's your function? My baby could share a birthday with JTT! Awesome. I started snoring very loudly a month ago and I cried a lot while watching An American Tail today so I think it's about time to get this baby out. Because there's nothing to see now. How do you get ready to push out a baby? Super attractive at 38 weeks, 2.25 weeks ago. That doesn't mean I ...

Tales of almost grown-ups. Saturday, November 19, 2011. Ready for a harsh Utah winter. Friday, November 18, 2011. I may be spoiling my baby a little too much by letting her lay on me for 3-hour naps, but how could you turn these little puckered lips away? Thursday, November 17, 2011. As if that is super threatening. I (pretending to be Jason) wrote the following letter to Paramount to make them aware of their obvious error. Take THAT, Hollywood. Monday, November 14, 2011. Just a few weeks ago we started ...

http://emilyhaycock.blogspot.com/2012_03_01_archive.html
Tales of almost grown-ups. Monday, March 12, 2012. A few weeks after Jane was born, I watched a youtube video of Steve Young getting flash mobbed. Friday, March 9, 2012. Yesterday my baby turned six months old. She's army crawling like a fool, likes bananas the best, and thinks I'm funnier than her dad. She's 15 lbs 5 oz, 26 inches tall, and she cries when I drag her away from putting cords in her mouth. I'm really scared for when she starts to crawl for realsies. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom).

http://emilyhaycock.blogspot.com/2011_08_01_archive.html
Tales of almost grown-ups. Wednesday, August 24, 2011. My parents have been world travelers this summer, and I am thrilled for them to actually get away from work/school/housework/kids, spend time together, and see parts of the world they've always wanted to visit. So far they've been to Sweden, Denmark, Portugal, Morocco, and they're currently in Spain. Lucky dogs, I know. I was reminded that Catherine was the daughter of Isabel la catolica. we saw Columbus. Tumb! No figaro though and a little bit more ...

Tales of almost grown-ups. Thursday, October 20, 2011. Me: What kind of cereal do you have? Silvia: I have good cereal, those little cushions. Monday, October 10, 2011. My mom stayed with us for a week after Jane was born and we are forever grateful for her help and her company. Of course she said some hilarious things but I only wrote a handful of them down. For some reason she reffered to Jason as "white boy" or "Englishman" during the week. I'm glad he wasn't offended. On Jane looking at her: Look!

My Simple Stories
Tuesday, December 30, 2008. I finally broke down and bought a new pair of snowboots. Yes, it took 3 1/2 years of living in the part of the valley that gets the most snow each year to finally convince me that I NEEDED snowboots. After searching for HOURS online, I gave up and went to my favorite place to purchase shoes: Dillard's at Provo Towne Center. Here's to warm toes and dry feet. PS Of course I fell in love with the only brand that was. On sale. Oh well! Posted by Elder Caplin. Links to this post.
simple stories | chapters of my life
Chapters of my life. September 23, 2008 by antoinette22k. September 22, 6 AM, I was awakened by the torrential downpour of rain that seems to get past our roof. It was so strong that I wasn’t able to get back to sleep again. But I wasn’t supposed to be sleeping! Turning to a quarter of a decade in my age is quite different. The day before this, I almost forgot I am turning 25 the following day (seriously! I waited until my cell phone started beeping. Minutes and hours went by but the strong outpour of ra...
