And tumbled me against the sand until I was gasping for breath. I wipe the salt from my eyes. I’m ready to go. But on the horizon. White horses are riding into shore. I let the froth lick at my feet. And as it recedes. The sand shines back to the sky. Did I put magic in motion that day. Out across the oceans and back?

Sweet as my unrealised dreams. I thought I would sob to see you go. Instead a cool wave of relief washes over me. The tears I’ve shed could fill an ocean. But today as I realise. Nothing more can be said or done. I watch the frangipani flowers fall. Leaving them to spin down. And brush the forehead of some other dreamer.

Thunder across tin rooves. And fly clumsily into the lower branches of trees. I never get to see the outcome. You’re in good form today.
