Sunday, 29 September 2013. 23rd September; outside learning and look at this really hairy caterpillar that the children found! 24th September; after work yesterday Katy and I drove all the way up to stay with my Aunt in Lincolnshire. That was so that we could go to a Uni open day at York. Wednesday, 30 July 2014. I get very distracted in the holidays.I am meant to be packing but I keep getting sidetracked by my stashes of fabric lying about! I got this fabric at Sandown.just £5 a metre. Look at these fab little houses. When I was in America last year I bought a twister tool that is an easy way to make pinwheel quilts. I have been desperate to try it out so today I quickly whizzed up some four patches. Just look at my nested seams! And here it is all together! I like the bold pinwheels.

Sunday, 30 March 2014. So what to show you first? It would appear from the lack of post on my blog that I have been doing nothing. But let me assure you, nothing could be further from the truth! I have finally finished a tunic style jumper I was knitting for myself. In this picture it looks a rather dingy colour but it is in fact, a rather lovely meadow green. Thursday, 27 February 2014. I will confess that I did just bang it all together, with little regard to squaring it all up. I even made the classic error of stitching each row to the one above, in the same direction. The result of my slapdash-ness? Well it was dead wonky! I couldn't really be bothered to undo it all but after looking at it for a bit I decided that I just would not be able to quilt it so I did unpick the worst row and jiggle it so it was a bit straighter! Saturday, 19 July 2014. And these blocks complete the first row of the quilt! Now because I have no desire to handstitch all 13 rows of sashing in one go. I decided to join each row as I go so here is the first finished row. It's actually the last row because I decided to start at the end instead of the beginning! Sunday, 20 July 2014. Don't know about you but I am REALLY bad about labelling the quilts I have made. I have never, ever labelled one. Not a single one. I have thought about it; I have even looked for a simple label solution but somehow it has just not happened! So today Eliza was bored. "Why don't you see if you can work out how to use the memory on my sewing machine and make me some quilt labels" say I. "Ok" says she. Sunday, 27 July 2014. A couple of weeks ago I answered and advert from a gentleman selling patchwork fabric that had belonged to his wife. When I actually got to see it , it was lots of cotton lawn blouses that she had made, they had got rather worn and faded, so she had put them aside to piece at some point.
