Friday, March 21, 2014. Recently, I have been thinking a lot about my future. My retirement from the fire service gave me an empty feeling and not long after moving to Texas, I was considering what my next job would be. Even though my professional goals have been placed on hold over the last three years due my injury, my focus now is on how I can help others. After my upcoming surgery my goal is be even more involved with Project Rebirth and identify more ways that I can assist other TBI patients.

A Fun Blog For the Weekend! Always thankful for the time I spent in the firehouse kitchen – firefighters are some of the best food critics on earth! The Bob Gray Best and Simplest Ribs Recipe. Start with a rack of pork ribs. Preheat the oven to 330 degrees. Cut the ribs into 4 to 5 rib sections. Place them in a 1 gallon bag with 2 tablespoons - of Italian salad dressing and 1 tablespoon - liquid smoke for 30 minutes. Cayenne pepper (fine ground). Cook for 2 hours and 30 minutes. Take them out of the oven.

It is hard to believe that almost a month ago I was getting ready to head to Boston for the Ride 2 Recovery Minuteman Challenge. The week after I got home was full of sleeping, eating, sleeping and more eating. Having only five months in between my last brain surgery and the ride took more out of me than I expected. I wore this particular helmet while fighting the fire at the Pentagon on September 11, 2001.
