Not just another pretty face: this fellow chased off the bad guys. Too bad our peace of mind was chased away, too. Continue reading →. Posted in Home Life. I never noticed it earlier! It was a wake-up call. I can see now that without the dogs, we’ll have to start locking all the doors at night. Posted in Home Life. Did you wonder where I’ve been? After...

Next 2 Last Chapter. Just another WordPress.com weblog. Yes, it’s getting worse →. Well hell. It’s been too long since I posted anything. For a while, I wondered what this blog was all about, but I guess it’s just discovering how to acclimate myself to change. Big changes. This image of the Everglades hits home. A horizon that promises needed rain, but threatens with deadly lightning. Like the plans we’ve made to guarantee our future: on the edge of blowing up. But on second thought, why am I complaining?

Next 2 Last Chapter. Just another WordPress.com weblog. More changes…. →. A Potent Spell,. By Janna Malamud Smith should be required reading for all girls ready to leave school. Or have babies. Or get married. Or grow old, wondering where the time went. The premise is that women’s love of their children generates a horrific fear of the loss of same children that enables them to be easily manipulated. I never thought of myself as a radical women’s rights person. Triple huh and damn. Posted in Home Life.

The Writer's Guide to Psychology: December 2010
http://writersguidetopsychology.blogspot.com/2010_12_01_archive.html
Friday, December 17, 2010. New Review from LJ.com - WGTP Recommended! Library Journal, a top publication for librarians, gave The Writer's Guide to Psychology. My favorite line is the last one, because having a corner on a market is a big deal in publishing: "Because the guide is directed toward writers with general knowledge rather than experts in the field, it is the only book of its kind.". Here's the review, but you can find the original on LibraryJournal.com. Posted by Carolyn Kaufman @CMKaufman.

QueryTracker Blog: The Value of Adversity
https://querytracker.blogspot.com/2012/07/the-value-of-adversity.html
Helping Authors Find Literary Agents. Wednesday, July 25, 2012. The Value of Adversity. Like death and taxes, adversity is an inevitable part of life. This is especially true when you're building a career as an author. Adversity will come at you from within and without, and sometimes from both directions at once. Saturday, May 30, 2009. The World is too Much with Me. Wordsworth would be so disappointed. I really should have been outside observing nature like a poet, but instead I opted to observe technology. Perhaps I should write a sonnet, Ode to my Blackberry (which, incidentally, I cannot live without). Maybe I can be forgiven because of the fact that my apartment complex pales in comparison the English countryside. Also, my margarita bucket has nothing on opium or laudanum. Thursday, May 28, 2009. Some days I...
