FARMHOUSE 5540: Eli's Room
http://farmhouse5540.blogspot.com/2015/04/elis-room.html
Renovating, decorating and creating in an 1867 Pennsylvania farmhouse. Thursday, April 30, 2015. When Millie came along we put her in Eli's old room and we moved Eli into what was the guest room. We finished working on some improvements in here over the summer but I just never seemed to find the time to show it until now! Some of the things we did we were put in a new closet, re-drywall the one side of the room, put in new wiring and lighting and then I gave the whole room a fresh coat of paint. It had b...

FARMHOUSE 5540: Farmhouse Friday ~ What Farmhouse Style Means to Me
http://farmhouse5540.blogspot.com/2015/03/farmhouse-friday-what-farmhouse-style.html
Renovating, decorating and creating in an 1867 Pennsylvania farmhouse. Friday, March 27, 2015. Farmhouse Friday What Farmhouse Style Means to Me. I am so excited to be joining some wonderfully talented bloggers for a new blog hop called FARMHOUSE FRIDAYS! This month's theme is "What Does Farmhouse Style Mean To Me". To me farmhouse style is. Lots of beadboard painted a crisp white that allows reflection of natural light. Hooks of all kinds old and new. Hooks are a staple in every room of our farmhous...

CAMP BLUE WALL: March 2015
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2015_03_01_archive.html
Monday, March 30, 2015. A Touch of Easter. I usually don't do a lot for Easter because in the South it is crunch time for getting your seedlings in and cleaning up the yard. I am usually in the garden from sun up to sundown from Good Friday until Easter and don't want to be inside cooking. I do, however, place a few Easter objects about so it reminds me of this holiday. Maybe something fancy from this wonderful cookbook, a lady that has a bed and breakfast in Lancaster, PA. Monday, March 23, 2015. Vickie...

CAMP BLUE WALL: February 2015
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2015_02_01_archive.html
Tuesday, February 24, 2015. After nine days of ice, which was finally gone yesterday, I woke up to this, real, nice, fluffy snow. Roman, the Abominable Snow Chow. I think I like the bamboo even more with a dusting of snow. Snow brings out the best in chows! Tuesday, February 17, 2015. It looks like snow . . . But it's three inches of ice pellets. Love these copper-topped heat vents on the roof. Sun is coming out, I'm hearing drips! Panda enjoys it whether it's snow or ice . . . Hearts Around the House.

CAMP BLUE WALL: November 2014
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2014_11_01_archive.html
Saturday, November 22, 2014. This smaller brass lamp was given to me by my aunt. Another thrift shop find, etched glass with silver plated base, which I have on my nightstand and will match nicely with my mercury glass collection once I get my shelf up to place them on. A T-Day project for Bob! This one was a little more than I like to spend, a whopping $25, but I had in the back of my mind that if it didn't look right, I could sell it on Ebay. Well, I can't part with it right now, just too pretty. Picke...

CAMP BLUE WALL: Herb Garden . . . Oh, My Aching Hands
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2015/05/herb-garden-oh-my-aching-hands.html
Monday, May 4, 2015. Herb Garden . . . Oh, My Aching Hands. Today my chow alarm went off at six in the morning, so I was up early and at the stables down the road by 7:30 am for much-needed manure. I prefer to make my own dirt rather than buy it, but it takes time and lots of compost. I had thought earlier of hiring a couple of guys to rip this stuff out. I started at 9 am and was completely exhausted by 3 pm, so six hours for two guys at $20/hour saved me a lot of $ $! Once I got the fencing and ivy out...

CAMP BLUE WALL: June 2014
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2014_06_01_archive.html
Wednesday, June 25, 2014. Garden Viewing Room Before. This is what I am going to call the garden viewing room or bird watching room or the dogs would say it is their Roman and Princess watching room and their favorite room in the house! Today I have yet again been avoiding scrubbing the kitchen cabinets so I decided to take down these old shades and get them out of the house. This is the outside view. The bushes in front of the window, which I have no clue as to what they are, were trimmed back befor...

CAMP BLUE WALL: March 2014
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html
Saturday, March 29, 2014. Mike, our fencer, has been here all week. He will be fencing four of the eight acres, up at the house and the pasture down to the stream. Using a lot of metal posts this time instead of wood, less expensive and stronger. He pointed out a huge beaver hole. Hope Roman doesn't see them. He's not fond of groundhogs, so can't imagine a beaver would look much different to him. I first want to read the travel logs to Europe! Friday, March 28, 2014. This is what it looks like inside....

CAMP BLUE WALL: April 2014
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html
Thursday, April 3, 2014. Old Black and White Photos. I finally got to sit down and go through thousands of photos and albums and found a few from when the house was built into the '50s. This is the farmhouse, which was there before the main house was built, and it looks so bare! I like how they crimped the photo edges back then.). This is the main house. Wow, look at that mountain view they used to have. All the trees are so little. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Visit Camp Blue Wall's profile on Pinterest.

CAMP BLUE WALL: Being a Tourist
http://campbluewall.blogspot.com/2015/04/being-tourist.html
Tuesday, April 28, 2015. Top on the list to tour with my brother and his wife was the Biltmore Estate, which I hadn't been to in over a decade. As beautiful and interesting as ever! Other things included hanging at the boathouse and hiking to Pearson Falls. Cooler than normal weather made walking and touring that much nicer. The dresses from Downton Abbey were on display adding more to the attraction. Loved the dresses and jewels! Hard to top the gargoyles, though! Subscribe to: Post Comments (Atom).
