Aeration and Over Seeding. Preventative grub control is done in combination with your round two/three lawn applications. The white grub is the larvae of the Japanese beetle and can cause moderate to severe damage to the turf by eating the root system of the grass.

Grubs will eat the root system out from underneath the grass. If you suspect grub damage please call us as soon as possible. We can do a preventive grub control or if grubs are present we can do a treatment to kill the existing grubs. As the temperature begins to heat up it is common for the fescue lawns to develop heat stress especially along streets, sidewalks, and driveways. This can be easily cured by increasing the amount of water applied to the lawn.

Fescue should be mowed between 3 to 4 inches to help shade the root system and retain water in the soil. Try not to mow no more than 1/3 of the blade off. Bermuda should be mowed at 1.5 to 2.5 inches during the growing season. Zoysia should also be mowed at 1.5 to 2.5 inches during the growing season.
