My new goal: Doctor of Dance | The Hidden Language of the Soul

https://languageofthesoul.wordpress.com/2012/06/28/my-new-goal-doctor-of-dance

The Hidden Language of the Soul. A blog to analyze the art of dance and its relationship with the contemporary world. My new goal: Doctor of Dance. Dance Scholar – aka Doctor of Dance. And so here is my attempt at summarizing the journey that has brought me to this new path…. I do also believe, though, that grad school is the right next step for getting me where I want to go in my career. Not that I know exactly what it is I want to do in the field once I graduate (wouldn’t that be nice). B...The Return ...

The Hidden Language of the Soul. A blog to analyze the art of dance and its relationship with the contemporary world. Non-review: Isadora Duncan shows us how it’s done. A few weeks ago I had the privilege of viewing a performance by Word Dance Theater. Boy, was I wrong. Instead of antiquated movements and gestures and repetitious flouncing about (expectations created from pictures and bits of video on Duncan I remembered from undergrad), what I experienced was some of the most clear, unadulterated, power...

Eating at home should be delicious. April 29, 2010. For the second time this week I’ve been seduced by the call of the Minimalist. This time, I was thinking about a video from back in February about Yakisoba. He describes the sauce for yakisoba as any number of ingredients — mostly condiments — that make up a slightly sweet and salty, though decidedly Asian sauce. 1/4 c soy sauce. 1/4 c worcestershire sauce. 2 T mirin, honey, or sugar. 1/2 t dijon mustard. 2 T ginger, minced. 1 T garlic, minced. Bring a ...

My Philosophy | The Hidden Language of the Soul

https://languageofthesoul.wordpress.com/my-philosophy

The Hidden Language of the Soul. A blog to analyze the art of dance and its relationship with the contemporary world. For this blog and my explorations in dance. Dance is the hidden language of the soul. Martha Graham. One of my aims is to present questions rather than answers. Paul Taylor. I often find that when I discuss dance in a greater context, the discourse unfolds into an array of questions. Such questions could resemble: Where has dance been and where is it going? My Two Left Feet. Get every new...

Saturday Morning (Lazy) Breakfast | the french toast

https://seklonsky.wordpress.com/2010/05/08/saturday-morning-lazy-breakfast

Eating at home should be delicious. Laquo; Mint Julep Granita. French Toast: Updated for Mother’s Day, 2010. Saturday Morning (Lazy) Breakfast. May 8, 2010. This morning was a lazy one, to be sure. While we woke up at a decent time and had an early morning coffee, I spent the rest of the morning reading the news and catching up on e-mail while Jared played video games (again). It wasn’t until 11 or so that we even thought about eating. Red Pepper and Feta Frittata. 3 T half and half or milk. Add garlic a...

Katie's Adoption and Fitness Journeys. Follow me on two very important journeys. Skip to primary content. Skip to secondary content. June 4, 2015. Today Skye and Cayka finished their school year. Who is this? | Is it you?

Yep, it’s still me. November 13, 2014. People around me have often asked me what I think my identity is. And I have asked myself many times who I really am. There are many different places where I can explore my own identity and one of the many is online. What about your online identity? Have you ever notice and difference and similarities in your online and offline identities? Do you see the same person reflecting off the screen? This is only a small part of the food posts I show my friends.

Sunday, September 2, 2012. So this assignment for my Writing and Reporting for the Media is so intimidating, I guess that's why I waited until mere hours before it's due to attempt it. I don't do facebook or twitter, so putting myself out in the internet land is all new. A phrase I like to live by is "Life is a journey, not a destination". All our lives we look so forward to getting to a certain point, whether it's turning 18, 21, graduation, whatever. that we miss out on enjoying the trip itself.
