Saturday, August 31, 2013. A Season (or lifetime) of Singleness. Picture from www.therenew.org. First of all, I'm sure some of you are wondering, "What does dating have to do with adoption? Picture from blog.vaughanfirm.com. Regardless of if I am to have children later in life or not is not completely relevant right now. I am nowhere close to being married, which leads me to my topic: Singleness. Picture from www.thornscompose.com. I haven't gotten a clear cut answer on that from God yet, so I don't know...

Letters For Brody: Birth-Mother's Day
http://lettersforbrody.blogspot.com/2014/05/birth-mothers-day.html
Tuesday, May 20, 2014. As I quickly mentioned in my last post I was asked to speak at the annual Birth-Mother's Day luncheon hosted by Lifeline this year. Lifeline is an adoption agency and every year they do a luncheon for birth-mothers on the day before Mother's Day. This event is a huge blessing. It's nice to be remembered and honored as a birth-mother. We are easily forgotten since we are not mothers in a traditional way. Here is what I said:. I couldn't understand why this was happening! I know that...

Thursday, September 18, 2014. My brother and I have a great relationship! We have most of our lives but there have been times when we didn't. Thankfully God has brought restoration to us and we get along great! We still cut up and goof off and have nice long chats about life and God and just everything. My brother and his wife just recently had a baby, and now I am an aunt! I am so excited! Anyway, I am SO thankful for my amazing brother. He's awesome! But like most brother/sister relationships, our time...

Letters For Brody: November 2013
http://lettersforbrody.blogspot.com/2013_11_01_archive.html
Sunday, November 3, 2013. My previous post was a post written by my dad and his response to the whole situation. The specific part I want to respond to is where he said this:. As a believer in Jesus, I wanted to respond in the proper way. Don't know if it was right or ever will be, but my thoughts went to what to do now to help my family. You see, as a father and husband, the hardest thing I have dealt with is failing. Failing to protect my daughter. God used this situation for great, amazing things!

Thursday, October 2, 2014. I can't wait to see you! I can't wait either! One of Terry's friends is here. He saw your picture on Facebook and said you were pretty. He wants to meet you.". Umm Okay. Well I'm definitely not looking to meet anyone right now. So. yeah. But I still can't wait to see you. I have to go to a dinner with my mom and Mrs. Pat and then I will head your way.". After a great dinner with Mrs. Pat and my mom I head towards Amy's house, but on the way I call her to let her know. After a w...

Wednesday, May 29, 2013. You Can't Escape It But You Can Embrace It. Picture from laurenzapata.wordpress.com. Some of the things in this post I was hesitant about sharing. However, I wish I would have had someone to tell me. I had no idea what to expect. I knew it would be hard, but I didn't know it would be as hard as it was. For those of you on this side, for those of you who have placed your child with another family, please share your stories! We need to stick together! March 01, 2013. I want you her...

Letters For Brody: June 2013
http://lettersforbrody.blogspot.com/2013_06_01_archive.html
Thursday, June 27, 2013. Realizing Restoration is a Realistic Desire. Since there is so much to tell, I am breaking it up into multiple posts. I am going to start with my brother and his wife:. How could I put my family through this after everything else I had put them through? What was I thinking? How was I going to handle this? She is a blessing! The balance of her love while everyone else was expressing UNDERSTANDABLE disappointment was definitely needed. Thank you Jo! Links to this post. We don't hav...

Letters For Brody: July 2013
http://lettersforbrody.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html
Monday, July 29, 2013. Picture from www.colourbox.com. After having a child that I placed with an adoptive family, it's strange having interactions with other people's children. Every time, however, it's a different reaction. There are some children that I absolutely love being around and click with; it's like my maternal instinct has stuck and I am a natural. There are other children who I used to get along with marvelously, and now it's awkward. Strange huh? Links to this post. Thursday, July 25, 2013.
