MyWorld Photography: June 2015
http://myworldphotography.blogspot.com/2015_06_01_archive.html
The story and thoughts behind one image. Sunday, June 21, 2015. This photograph was taken on a rainy day – in fact when I left Beirut the rain was torrential, it seemed madness to set off to photograph a refugee camp on a day like this. But it was the best day to capture what life is really like for these people. The day before had been sunny, not only would the light have been harsh, everyone and the whole situation would have looked bright. But the future for these people is anything but bright. Five y...
MyWorld Photography: February 2011

The story and thoughts behind one image. Monday, February 28, 2011. I met Margaret late in the afternoon while taking a walk through the slums behind my accommodations in Kenya. I was with a group of three or four others and she was preparing an evening meal for her grandchildren. It was the only meal for the day, hot cocoa prepared over an open fire in the street. The mugs were not clean, they were chipped – not the kind of thing you want to serve to a guest. No reproduction without permission. My plan ...

The story and thoughts behind one image. Wednesday, July 11, 2012. REPORT BACK: West Africa Food Crisis, Mali 2012. Long Road to Normal:. As the food crisis continues across West Africa Mali faces a double challenge. Jihadist rebels have taken over the North and the local population, both Moslems and Christians are at risk of violence and death, not only from starvation but now also at the hands of the rebels. Sisly Niaga is blind but along with six others he was able to escape. Donations can be made to:.

MyWorld Photography: November 2010

The story and thoughts behind one image. Thursday, November 11, 2010. The Antidote Part One. Posted by Jim Loring. Tuesday, November 2, 2010. The story and thoughts behind one photo. A pile of empty shells by a deserted window, a snipers window. We are on the border between Croatia and Bosnia and the window is in a school, it looks out across no man’s land. It is eerie; contradictory. schools should represent hope, the next generation, freedom, possibility, life. One book shows the face of Ghandi. Back i...

My World Photo Books | Treasure the moments, treasure your loved one.
My World Photo Books. Treasure the moments, treasure your loved one. When you don’t know what to say…. We cannot imagine how it must feel to be diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease-to gradually lose your memory, your understanding of the world around you, and your ability to interact with friends and family. God has summoned our hearts to offer this book for the benefit of the loved ones who cannot speak for themselves and to help the families and caregivers who may be too overwhelmed to speak. My group so...

The story and thoughts behind one image. Sunday, September 20, 2015. The crisis of this hour. Most boys want to play with cars and guns. If denied they will make their own. Swords and the need to fight seem to be hard wired. But the story behind this picture takes it a step further. He had been asking his Mum for a land to air missile launcher, like the ones he had seen back home, and now at night he snuggles up next to it. I was on assignment in Lebanon during 2014. Eight people in one room. And t.

Moir Camp - Kilimanjaro National Park, Tanzania by Eric Dewar. Almost a full blue moon when I took this photograph. Moir camp was the first day in which I began to feel a slight headache. Some tylenol did the trick, but this high camp at 13,660 feet above sea level takes many because of altitude sickness. Good thing I surpassed the problems and was able to continue on my hike to the summit. 16 August, 2015. Mount Mawenzi, Kilimanjaro, Tanzania by Eric Dewar. 15 August, 2015. 14 August, 2015. October 28, 2014. More than the Jump. Back in August of this year I had the awesome opportunity to to go on a 24 hour adventure with Adventure Athlete, Johnny Korthius. We headed south to a base jumping site. After a long day of traveling and a little mishap on finding the turn off to the cliff we arrived. It was spectacular! We climbed. Johnny jumped. We climbed. Johnny jumped. Breathe, fist pound, weather, wind, flag, good to go, breathe, run……….jump. Johnny did this a total of 3 times during our trip ...

Idaho, Nevada, Utah and Colorado. Missouri, Arkansas and Oklahoma. Ecuador and The Galapagos. Young Astronomy Photographer of the Year 2013. I am a self-taught photographer from Canada. I have just recently picked up photography and have only been photographing for just shy of two years. I love taking pictures at angles and perspectives that other people don't see. Its fun getting down on my knees or tilting my camera a different way to get that perfect shot (in my mind). Book for sale on Amazon.
