By providing urban young adults with the skills, experience, and support to empower them to reach their potential through professional careers and higher education. Twenty-two brave, motivated young adults walked through our doors in Boston that first year, bringing a little faith in an unproven program and a lot of determination to make the most of the opportunity.

On Saturday, February 26th I'll be taking part in the Poar Plunge in Indianapolis to raise money for Special Olympics. As anyone reading my blog on this site already knows, I am embarking on a special year, I resigned from my job of 10 years to take a year and dedicate it to volunteering. And that's how it all began! I was hooked and I have been volunteering in some way, shape or form ever since!

Tuesday, March 2, 2010. Does it make sense that I ate my weight in food 2 days ago and lost 2 pounds, but stuck to the diet yesterday and gained back a pound? Thursday, February 25, 2010. Saturday, February 20, 2010. Day 14: Figured It Out. So I am attributing my gain of almost 4 pounds to water retention because now that I think about it, my mom made pot roast and it has a lot of salt the way she makes it and I had a lot of it.
