I read something on the internet yesterday to the effect that at this time of year the gap between what we want and what we have seems the greatest. I thought that was pretty spot on. The rest of the year we take that gap for granted but now, it just seems hard. We want the picture-perfect Christmas and we get reality. I am using the Mac that I bought in December to send this post to my blog, I have not figured it all out by any means. I had been postponing writing until I figured out how to do this but the best way to figure it out is to just do it I guess. On the one hand it I feel obliged to see how the story ends in movie form, on the other I am not sure it was spectacular enough to warrant sitting through again.

Our destination: the local produce stands past the Fraser Canyon. Results: accomplished! We stopped at several roadside markets to collect squash. Sunday, April 1, 2018. She has left the room. This morning, Easter Sunday and the first of April, a dear friend died. I am glad that her family had the time to gather around her at this time. I am glad to have known her, and relieved that as these things go it was a good death. A friend described it as "torturous", but I think that she herself was not tortured but at peace with her end.
