Mzungu Eriki on a bike: Trip stopper: MUD!
http://mzungueriki.blogspot.com/2011/12/we-made-it-accross-mud-flooded-improved.html
Mzungu Eriki on a bike. This is how we got there. Henry and I decided to do a short trip Saturday to Tuesday, but we both needed Saturday to get stuff together for the trip. It has been raining a fair amount, and I was looking at options where there would be no mud, we need sandy or hard tracks. We plan to ride to Lolkisale , then along Tarangire National Park and then East to the big Kiteto road and back home. An hour later we are in Kisongo on the highway and asking several people and they say. "No...

Mzungu Eriki on a bike: South Masai steppe tour
http://mzungueriki.blogspot.com/2011/02/south-masai-steppe-tour.html
Mzungu Eriki on a bike. South Masai steppe tour. I asked Arusha Bikers mailing list about joining me for a short tour. In the end no one could go, so I went alone. Alone is good too. I had a plan of "finding" this mountain pictured above, called Landanai. It is there on the map, and it is pretty big and all, but maps are pretty sketchy on location of roads , vague, outdated, roads change, etc, so I figured it was still an adventure "finding" it from the north. I had an auspicious start through town. I was...
Mzungu Eriki on a bike: Brenna Coupland, solo bike tourist! You rock girl!

Mzungu Eriki on a bike. Brenna Coupland, solo bike tourist! I have a habit and hobby of inviting bicycle tourists to stay with us. Brenna Coupland was the latest and one of the most inspiring. Her website. She is living one of my dreams. One of the most minimal journeys I have seen. Her budget is like nothing. Despite having a very full bike with ton of gear. Also the first person I have been around who really uses an IPhone for everything. We did a short ride into Masai land. As for getting out to see B...
Mzungu Eriki on a bike: April 2015
http://mzungueriki.blogspot.com/2015_04_01_archive.html
Mzungu Eriki on a bike. What do you think about while driving to work? Yesterday daughter Nashesha informs me that I have to drive her and her artwork to school, as it won't fit on the bicycle. So should i drive back home and then ride bike or just drive to work. I drive to work. It turns out of be about 30 minutes driving, 20 of it alone. It struck me how it is kind of non productive. Stop and go, paying attention to the chaotic jam into town. How do you put up with this day in and day out? This cross I...

Alternative Building Construction in Tanzania. Wednesday, June 11, 2014. First real concrete counter top. There is some water on the counter and why it is so shiny, which I like. Hallway outside the classroom has vaulted roofs and groined vault in the middle. This job is leading to more jobs. Rocket stoves...

Ross huomauttelee jatkuvasti, kuinka lahjakas riimittelijä olen (“You’re like Byron, or Keats”) ja alan nyt itsekin huomata, kuinka totta se on. Jukka opettaa journalismin opiskelijoita. MD2 (she's back)
La répétition fixe la notion. Jeudi 25 octobre 2007.

The Glorious Kenyan Adventures of Mzungu Fleits
The Glorious Kenyan Adventures of Mzungu Fleits. Thursday, November 6, 2008. So I realize that I haven't, you know, done anything like updated this in over a month. But we're not going to be upset about it because we're going to focus on the amazing fact that Obama was elected and I was in an amazing place to see it happen! I never would have wanted to carry around the crappy American flags provided by the Ambassador's Residence before. And now, for the first time, I realize that that's because I never k...

The life and tales of Audhild
The life and tales of Audhild. A blog about re-entering Norway, facing the culture and updates about my life. The beginning of the end? I actually wanted to avoid doing this. But I have come to termes with the fact that it is unavoidable. Yesterday was the 7th of March. And for me, this marked the beginning of the end.
