Friday, January 2, 2009. It Was a Beautiful Day. Today Vanilla, KDogg and I went to Canton Trades Days. It was a beautiful, sunshiney day. Perfect temperature and very small crowds. Actually, no crowds! I had an incredibly enjoyable day. I found some treasures, ate a funnel cake and laughed all afternoon with the kids. Tuesday, July 21, 2015. Out here in the "country" we have a bazillion (truly, we took a head count) different critters. These are indigenous little critters, not our girls, aka the chickens. No, I am talking about the huge stink bugs that were like a plague on one of our trees when they were first spotted in spring and have now branched out all over our farm. Huge. Scary critters that fly. Critters too. I can't remember if Scout said they are moles or gophers, whatever they are we have lots of them.

Living it up in Fun Central. Published Friday, 23 December, 2011. Today, we made and baked holiday biscotti (biscotti with lemon zest, pistachios, and cranberries) and gingerbread. The house smells AMAZING! For dinner I am making a roasted shallot, pepper, and tomato tart, YUM! Some of the biscotti are form Pen’s “love” Aaron (one of Tim’s coworkers and Annie’s godfather). It is so cute, Pen’s first crush! Time to go dip my biscotti in melted white chocolate and decorate with green or red course sugar!

The girls and I had fun walking outside in the snowflakes. Pen enjoyed splashing in puddles, until she fell on her hands and knees and was soaked in freezing cold water from head to toe. I’m headed to L.A. on Monday for a 1 day workshop, a nice little out of the office trip thanks to my (kick ass, if I do say so my self, not a hint of nerves and I was the first speaker on my panel! Presentation at the TRB Annual Meeting in D.C. back in later January.
