Inverter Generator Noise Filter. We've used various inverter-based generators for field day over the years, for instance the Honda EU2000i. These generators use a solid-state inverter to produce a 60 hertz sine wave . Sine wave in quotes because the output is far from spectrally pure, it has a ton of hash, of crud. Today, I mounted the house bracket to the back of the garage. I removed one piece of siding and nailed up a 2x6 there. This piece of 2x6 was stained (yesterday) to match the house. KX3 Power Supply Comparison. In October 2014, I brought my Elecraft KX3 on vacation to St. Lucia. I had a fair amount of problems with RFI, much (all? Of which was caused by my power supply. The test setup was to set the KX3 on the bench, set to 20 meter SSB, and fed with a very short stainless steel whip, which is normally used on my service monitor.
