This is a 2.5 hour study, done with India ink and oil-based pencil on an 18 x 24" sheet of Revere rag paper. The Week in Figure Drawings. Sunday, May 31, 2015. 2nd entry for May 10, 2015. These are all india ink washes and graphite pencil on 18 x 24" sheets of Canson XL Series watercolour paper. I'm starting to feel at home enough with the medium that I feel more comfortable loosening the reins more. The Week in Figure Drawings. Friday, August 14, 2015. 1st entry for Aug. 7, 2015. It was Rock and Roll Circus night at the Dr. Sketchy's session at Round Venue on the Friday night. Originating in New York, Dr Sketchy's `Ant-Art School' is a franchise of drawing sessions that bring burlesque and performance art people to pose, with drinks, prizes and soundtracks thrown into the mix. Louise, a model I hadn't encountered before, was working. These are eight 2-minute studies above, and a couple of 5-minute ones below. The Week in Figure Drawings. Monday, August 31, 2015. 4th entry for Aug 23, 2015. This is a 2-hour study, done with a graphite initial sketch, India ink wash underlayer and oil-based pencil on top. It's on an 18 x 24" sheet of Revere rag paper. Work like this will be among the things I'll have out to see this year at the Queen West Art Crawl, Sept. 12 and 13th in Trinity-Bellwoods Park. I'll be at Booth M42, on the north-west curve of the big paved circle, facing the community centre. Links to this post.
