Fred Scholte PhD research: The norm of reciprocity
http://fredscholte-phdonderzoek.blogspot.com/2011/12/norm-of-reciprocity.html

Saturday, 31 December 2011. The norm of reciprocity. One of the central problems of sociological theory is accounting for stability and instability in social systems. In my search in literature about the existence and origins of conflict I came across an interesting article written by Gouldner, already in 1960*! If people refus...

Managing time to write? | HumanCreativity
https://humancreativity.wordpress.com/2014/05/02/timetowrite
Exploring the vernacular and spectacular. Managing time to write? May 2, 2014. I have recently been really thinking about how I deal with difficult situations and I am pretty proud of how I have dealt with some hurdles recently. I have avoided being passive aggressive when I could have easily slipped into that trap and despite frustrations at work I have been able to pretty much just get on with my work and come home and switch off…this is progress. How do people manage their writing time efficiently?

Exploring the vernacular and spectacular. Putting things in boxes. February 28, 2013. Also, I am learning to turn off the noise! That is all the voices that go on around you that actually you do not need to listen to. In doing this I feel quite liberated and excited about the Summer and my plans to get things written and some projects off the ground. As soon as I stopped listening to the noise I felt much better. Figuring out what I need is much more productive. Click to email (Opens in new window).

Exploring the vernacular and spectacular. New Academic Year….new resolutions? September 26, 2013. September 26, 2013. So we are well under way! Week 2 is nearing its end and I have to say I am already exhausted! I need a plan – use that time wisely and aim to stay ahead of the game all year and avoid a serious melt-down like last year! I am actually much more laid back about things this year and I hope that helps me get on with my research as well. So what are my new academic year resolutions…. 4) Say no...

Dogs and Leisure? | HumanCreativity

Exploring the vernacular and spectacular. June 27, 2014. I presented some initial findings today at our faculty’s conference on some research I have been doing with a colleague at another university on dog walking. It really is about the vernacular rather than the spectacular in every way! Are you sure you want all that meat? I am happy to help clear it up! The Companion Species Manifesto.
