Backed them both as win singles and in an each way double. Ten to follow coming along - the 3 above plus today's winners Cirrus Des Aigles. Thursday, 5 April 2012. Irish eyes are smiling. Might get 6 places on the day. Subscribe to: Posts (Atom). Bladon, Oxfordshire, United Kingdom. View my complete profile.

Tuesday, 14 October 2014. I want to take on El Namoose in the closing bumper (5:20) at Huntingdon later today. It is notoriously difficult for those penalised runners to succeed in these contests. The historic record of this race supports this theory, albeit not unequivocally and Purple Bay, a similar sort from the same stable, was beaten at odds-on carrying one such penalty last season. Friday, 3 April 2015. Let not statistics and trends be your master but, instead, be your servant. Ignore at your peril, but don't forget to leave room for intuition, insight and form study. The Grand National may seem, to the uninitiated, a lottery, but for long periods in its history it creates fairly predictable themes, meandering only slowly towards new trends, all of which the keen punter has to identify and interpret. To Win - Godsmejudge (Best) and Al Co (Next Best). To Place (not each way) - Carli...

Racehorsingman: October 2012
http://racehorsingman.blogspot.com/2012_10_01_archive.html
Saturday, 6 October 2012. Arc the Longchamp Angels sing! Dear All In the immortal lyrics of that great songstress, Joni Mitchell, I looked at the Arc from all sides now, from up and down, and still somehow I can only see one winner and that's Saonois. Or, in the case of Camelot. A second-hand plan - very much doubt he'd have run here but for St Leger defeat. How Great Heavens. Is ahead of a French Derby winner in the betting is a mystery; Nathaniel. Dangers, if any, are Shareta. Thursday, 4 October 2012.

http://racehorsingman.blogspot.com/2014/10/some-decent-racing-today-but-i-cant.html
Wednesday, 15 October 2014. Some decent racing today but I can’t find anything of real value and so will keep my powder dry. Sir Michael Stoute unleashed a useful type, the beautifully bred, PETERHOF. Who, in keeping with the better juveniles in the Barbadian’s care, at this stage of the season, was a winner first time out on the all-weather at Lingfield Park. A Derby entry, he will probably be among the yard’s best 3-year old’s next season. Sir Mark Prescott’s ALBA VERDE. View my complete profile.

Racehorsingman: January 2012
http://racehorsingman.blogspot.com/2012_01_01_archive.html
Tuesday, 31 January 2012. Green with Envy the Sequel. I decided to park taking an informed view of the Irish challenge in the absence of sufficient collateral form. Contests in the last seven days have focussed my thoughtpatterns so now I am ready to step forward and show my hand. The first is Scotsirish. The second is Sizing Europe. The third of the quartet is Lambro. Have a look at its run behind Flemenstar last time over a vastly inadequate 2-miles? I have already plunged a few quid on at fancy prices...

Racehorsingman: March 2013
http://racehorsingman.blogspot.com/2013_03_01_archive.html
Sunday, 17 March 2013. Well, that was a terrific Festival of racing talent at the foot of Cleeve Hill. Four extraordinary days of high drama, tragedy and heroism. Has jumps racing ever been so blessed? With this year's events still as fresh as paint in the memories of the disciples, attention immediately turns to the next one, in 2014. Can we allow ourselves the indulgence of asking fate to permit all of the main protagonists to return fit and well in twelve months time. What a spectacle! By the turn of ...

Racehorsingman: February 2012
http://racehorsingman.blogspot.com/2012_02_01_archive.html
Wednesday, 29 February 2012. The weights for the always riveting handicaps are revealed tomorrow and then we can revisit yesterday's thoughts and load the revolver for the always tricky and equally competitive 3 mile and 2 mile 5 handicap chases on the first day's competition. Beginning with the gruelling 4-mile novice championship, the National Hunt Chase. And Fists of Fury have been well supported in this market. I prefer the former though worry about the ground. My other is Allee Garde. Also and other...
