Friday, May 14, 2010. What's the name of the skin that breaks on the sides of fingernails and stands perpendicular to the nail? I cut them off with a nail clipper when i spot them. They're not cuticles, not the thing on the base of the nail. They come up on the sides of the fingernail, ie one on a side, though seemingly never two at once, at the point where the fingernail meets the finger. They'll catch on stuff, my other hand, or clothes, and slightly hurt if not cut. What is the NAME of these things?
