Tuesday, May 13, 2014. After a short vacation. We had gone to Mysore for a few days. The day we left Chennai, there was a bomb blast at the Chennai central station about an hour after our train departed, killing a girl! Wow, what a start to a vacation. Other than this shock, we had a great 3 days. Of course, no trip is complete without shopping. But I did not go on a spree, and did only sensible shopping (if there's something called that). Sunday, November 9, 2008. Mr Frog came to visit and stayed! I did however manage to finish the alphabet for Witchy Poo and Sisters (really called "Gather for a Spell" ) so I feel that I did something but I just know I could have done much more *sigh*. On the good news front I did finish another coaster the ornament.yippie. just one more to go. Of course my dh now decides that he would love to see them in a pillow! Saturday, November 22, 2008. Actually Witchy Poo and Sister's are. Thanks to a very lovely friend who located my much needed Kreinik Blending Filament (they glow in the dark) and had them shipped to me, I was able to start glowing last night. :). I didn't do as much progress as I thought I would because I was itching to glow. But, all in all, not bad.right? I figure as long as I do some progress it's better than no progress. Well, I am off to start my new piece for this week. it is a gift for my kids.

Tuesday, March 3, 2015. Yeah yeah I know it's March and the subject says Feb. but in my defense, new moon was in Feb ;). So here goes the TUSAL. For those who are wondering what a TUSAL is, you can find the details here. And here's my progress on seashells. Doesn't she look pretty. Love the chubby little arms. I have been trying to bake healthy. So, using jaggery instead of sugar in most of my bakes. Here's a Feta cheese and apple muffin I baked. Method is the same as for any cake. A Bday and a new start.

On the crafting front - I learnt quite a few recipes, some of them keepers. Zilch on the beading front, hoping to catch up with that too this year. Monday, June 30, 2014. I agree, I am definitely on a baking spree now. I found this super simple recipe for peanut butter cookies that I HAD to try in the BBC GoodFood magazine. It just calls for 3 ingredients -80g each of Peanut butter, butter, Icing sugar and 100g flour. Mix everything and bake. I have been wanting to try a chocolate cheesecake for a long time and found this recipe on BHG.com. The link to the recipe. I have made some progress on seashells as well. Promise to post a picture next time.

Monday, March 30, 2015. Start of summer vacations - 2015. Oh my god, end of another academic year! I know, each year it's the same reaction, very cliche. but it really feels like I just got the new books and uniforms for last year. I always feel as excited as V does when it's vacation time for many reasons:. 1 I get to re-live my own vacation through hers. 2 I get to sleep for a little longer in the morning (if only for an hour more). Tuesday, May 12, 2015. A Trip and Summer Lessons. This summer, V and I discussed how to keep her occupied and decided that we would do something different and not the regular summer camp. So we rounded on daily life skills - baking, basic sewing etc. First was a cake that V baked from scratch. She has been my little elf all along. mixing the batter, stringing beads etc. This was her first ever cake baked from scratch - an orange chocochip cake. It turned out very moist and soft.
