Nan's Notes

Monday, October 13, 2014. Sunday morning, we headed to Rockdale to refresh the flowers on my parents and grandparents graves and to visit with Uncle Bo and Ed, who were having their monthly work weekend at the farm. We met at the Mexican Restaurant for breakfast and then headed to the cemetery in town. Red was Grandma's favorite color! The little greenish ones in the center were just an accent. Since the older flowers still looked nice, we "recycled" them and perked up Mama West's grave too. Posted by Bl...

Nan's Notes: March 2014

http://nanbrewer.blogspot.com/2014_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 30, 2014. Just a few cute photos of the boys . hanging out around the house. Chillin' in the Shade. Now that's a big cat! And taking a nap! Posted by Blog Manager. We've had UofH football tickets at the original Robertson Stadium for years, but this past season was played at Reliant while the new UofH stadium was under construction. To prepare season ticket holders for the purchasing process - quite the ordeal - they offered tours since the new stadium is very different than the old one.

Nan's Notes: July 2013

http://nanbrewer.blogspot.com/2013_07_01_archive.html

Sunday, July 28, 2013. As I've already mentioned, we met a Director of Jerry's bank for dinner and a show in San Antonio. At their recommendation, we stayed at Hotel Havana - a 27 room hotel originally built in 1917 by a local grocer as a "residence hotel" for his buyers, when they were in town. After our last experience at the Hilton Palacio del Rio this was a welcome change! Saturday morning we were up early for a long walk on the Riverwalk . Artist's Exhibit Under Freeway! Lily Pond Along the Riverwalk.

Nan's Notes: August 2013

http://nanbrewer.blogspot.com/2013_08_01_archive.html

Saturday, August 31, 2013. It's another "social media Sunday" and I'm catching up on all the exciting and mundane. Caused us to reconsider and then so many other issues needed attention it got moved to the back burner and then to the back of our consciousness. I cannot even begin to describe this process - and Jerry did try to help them for a while - but they had a system of using various tools combined with brute force to move the tree. And indoors, the cats couldn't have cared less . Now Silvo and his ...

Nan's Notes: April 2014

http://nanbrewer.blogspot.com/2014_04_01_archive.html

Sunday, April 20, 2014. Running Hard in the Big Easy. Less than a week after returning from The Masters, we were on the road again - headed to New Orleans for Crescent City Classic! Engine of our Plane with the Fred Hartman Bridge in the Background. Approaching New Orleans with the mighty Mississippi ahead. I know this weather looks ominous, but it was actually fine when we landed! We love New Orleans and we love staying at the Ritz - what a lovely hotel. Race morning . so after Capitol 10K and walki...

Nan's Notes: Maine Coon Madness at the Omni

http://nanbrewer.blogspot.com/2014/05/maine-coon-madness-at-omni.html

Thursday, May 1, 2014. Maine Coon Madness at the Omni. This feeling was reinforced when we arrived at the Omni. Jerry had walked over from his office to help get them in the room, but those "helpful valets" didn't seem to understand that it's different with cats checking into a hotel than it is with dogs! I would have taken a photo of them riding on the luggage cart inside their kennel, but I was too focused on praying that Elvis would not break through the mesh and take out the bellman's legs. And so ar...

Tuesday, June 21, 2011. Of course, we're learning water safety and having fun floating using a "noodle". Every day at the start of class, we get in a circle and sing a fun song. The next day, we add the lesson we have learned to the song so it's getting long because I've already gone five times! One of our exercises is to swim to a rubber duck . here I go! I'm getting closer with help from Nana. Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. I'm a card-carrying member of the Texas Reading Club! Catch a Wave . Logan e...

Memphis Waller: Vacation Bible School

http://memphiswaller.blogspot.com/2011/08/vacation-bible-school.html

Monday, August 15, 2011. July 25 - 28, Nana took me to Vacation Bible School at the Zion Lutheran Church. Each day we read a bible story - with a fishing theme. Monday was. Jesus Feeds the 5,000. Told by the Sonshine Puppet Company), Wednesday was. Jonah and the Whale. Jesus Calls the 12 Desciples. Also by Sonshine Puppet Company). The first three days, we had craft time after the story. Tuesday, July 19, 2011. More Fun with Zach! We had to change our plans on Saturday and instead of going to the wave pool (it rained), we headed over to Lil Jack's Party Center, which is full of indoor bouncy houses. Here's Zach balancing on an airplane . I was resting for a minute after bouncing non-stop! We worked up such an appetite, we stopped for lunch at Cici's Pizza. Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. Memphis Waller: Memphis' First Train Ride

http://memphiswaller.blogspot.com/2011/11/memphis-first-train-ride.html

Sunday, November 6, 2011. Memphis' First Train Ride. November 4 - 6, 2011, we went to ride the big steam train from Rusk to Palestine. It was a great adventure that began at my favorite hotel, the La Quinta in Rusk, TX. We had delicious, room service pizza. Did you all know that they'll bring pizza to your room? Nothing better than a hot pizza on a Friday night! The other great thing about this hotel is that they have an indoor pool and you can swim year-round. And kicking water everywhere!

Memphis Waller: March 2011

http://memphiswaller.blogspot.com/2011_03_01_archive.html

Sunday, March 27, 2011. This Saturday, March 26th, Dad was doing some repairs at Aunt Nan's house so we went over to Houston and had a nice lunch at the Cafe Express in Uptown Park. This big fountain in the outdoor cafe was my favorite part! Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. Last Saturday, March 20th, Dad decided to wash his truck. It was warm outside, so I headed out in my diaper to help him. And then I got a great idea . Jerry Lee needed a bath! Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. Friday, March 18, 2011.

Thursday, September 30, 2010. Fun at the Beach House. We went to Nan and Jerry's beach house for a visit and I had a great time watching the seagulls and turning somersaults in the living room. We laughed and laughed! I saw an interesting air boat that Daddy and Poppa are going to ride on very soon - I'll probably give it a try when I'm older. Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. Thursday, September 16, 2010. I'm 18 Months Old. I turned 18 months on September 3rd. Posted by Memphis DeWayne Waller. We saw lo...

Nancy-Jeannie's Journaling

Wednesday, June 11, 2008. Were you happy with the way you're life was going before you came to prison? What do you want to change, because if there is nothing, I will see you again. We all live with tension- the pull between the forces of life and death- what the physical craves, and what the spirit longs for. Can't we let them go? There is no one else here? Kvikmyndagerð MR 2009-10

Friday, April 16, 2010. Þar sem að sjónvarppsseríur eru orðnar nokkur hluti af glápi manns álvað ég að skrifa nokkur orð um það sem ég er að horfa á í augnablikinu. How I Met Your Mother. Flight of the Concords.

NanBrook Farm

Sunday, June 17, 2012. With the youngest son way for the weekend, it was my turn to "walk the chicks." With 4 houses and over 120,000 chicks, it takes over an hour to do this. Of course, while walking, we are also looking for mechanical difficulties as well as picking up those young chicks who do not make it for some reason or another. Today is Day 14 and all these young things do is eat, sleep and well, you know what else! As you can see on the floor! Our 3 little overseers! And that's only 52 days!
